Resident Evil 4 Remake Bolt Thrower: How to Get the Best Weapons
Resident Evil 4 Remake may have new boss fights, redesigned maps and a shiny new look, but one thing that remains the same as all previous versions is appallingly scarce ammo. There are many Ways to Save Ammo in RE4 Remake, but for new players and returning veterans, there's a new ammo save method you need to know about: The Bolt Thrower.
The Bolt Thrower is a weapon that is brand new to Resident Evil 4 Remake. This can be used in stealth as it is a crossbow that fires bolts. In addition, ammo can be retrieved and you can even create explosives with it. Here is our guide to help you get and use the Boltgun crossbow in Resident Evil 4. Guide to using Bolt Thrower in Resident Evil 4
The Bolt Thrower in Resident Evil 4 can be found as part of the Trader's merchandise quite early in the campaign. You will meet this friendly guy right after you escape the Factory and just before you reach the mountain village. The weapon itself only costs 10 pesetas, a very small amount, making it a worthwhile purchase going forward.
As mentioned earlier, the Bolt Thrower is perfect for taking out enemies in stealth. The noise made by each shot is barely audible, so if the enemies are far apart, others won't be able to hear it unless the crowd starts screaming. However, there are a few downsides such as weak power, low rate of fire, and slow reload time. The ammo capacity and reload time will probably be the upgrades you want to focus on as it will allow you to have multiple bolts in the magazine and you can reload more of them in a single action.
Apart from the above, Resident Evil 4 Bolt Thrower has a few quirks:
- Disposable knives and large resources can be used to craft additional bolts.
- Also, you can combine small resources and gunpowder to make sticky mines.
- Regular bolts can be picked up from enemies, ensuring you don't waste ammo as often.
- Attachable mines, meanwhile, can be selected by aiming the weapon and pressing the left stick. This will turn the Bolt Thrower into something similar to the Mine Thrower from the original game. Naturally, as a result of the explosion, the projectile will be destroyed.
