Who is the Best Fortnite Player of 2019?
It's time to give your favorite Fortnite pro players the recognition they deserve by voting for the best Fortnite player of 2019 in PortalVirtualReality.
What a year this has been for competitive Fortnite. Epic broke esports records with their prize money, hosted one of the biggest tournaments ever in the World Cup, and continued to develop the competitive landscape by focusing on streamlining their game and building competitive offerings.
We have seen so many outstanding performances this year, but only four Fortnite players can be nominated for this title. Take a look at the contenders and cast your vote for the number one Fortnite player of 2019.
Kyle 'Bugha' Giersdorf
No Best Fortnite Player list would be complete without the reigning solo world champion. Bugha burst onto the scene in 2019 with his first place in the World Cup final. He returned home from the event with $3 million in his bank account and hundreds of thousands of new fans.
However, he didn't stop there, regularly winning NCS qualifiers and cash tournaments, which has led to him earning over $3 million from playing - almost all of which came in 2019 alone.
There are many great Fortnite players who can be considered the best in the world, but there is only one reigning world champion. You can't argue with the results.
David 'Aqua' Wang
For some reason, World Cup duo winners Aqua and Nyhrox didn't get the same boost in popularity as Bugha did after the tournament. He got a boost in the competitive scene but isn't always mentioned in discussions of the best Fortnite players in the world.
Since then, however, Aqua has shown that the World Championship was no fluke by taking first place in the EU X FNCS season and topping the table in multiple Cash Cups and placement matches. The Australian won about $1,790,207 from Fortnite competitions during 2019.
Benjy David 'BenjyFishy' Fish
BenjyFishy is widely regarded as one of the best players in the European region. The 15-year-old has battled as a solo and tag team competitor for over a year, climbing high places and gaining respect from the rest of the Fortnite esports community.
This high-level professional has teamed up with some of the best in his region (Mr Savage and Montreal), both of whom recognize Benjy as one of the best. He can fill any role in the team and plays beside himself during solo competitions. Benjy may not have had significant wins like some other professional players, but he was too young to play in the early 16+ events.
We can expect BenjyFishy and Mongrel to compete together in the upcoming Winter Royale Duo tournament, solidifying their role against Tfue and Cloakzy EU.
Dominick 'UnknownxArmy' Green
UnknownxArmy was one of the most underrated Fortnite pro players of 2019 but deserves its place on this list as much as anyone else. The free agent started his journey to become the first - and one of the only - controller players to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup solos. It was his first party, but he was just getting started.
From there, Unknown dominated the cash cups and regularly visited the top pros in creative mode. He even showed that he was capable of playing on more than just a controller when he finished fifth in the Cash Cup on keyboard and mouse.
UnknownxArmy is a true hybrid player. He could probably win the Cash Cup on an iPad. He put together a team and ultimately won the NA-East Grand Finals. We are witnessing the beginning of a young talent's career right now. This young pro is sure to get more recognition in 2020.
