Walkthrough Forging Fate God of War: Ragnarok

Find a way to the surface

The quest will begin as soon as you return to Svartalfheim. Enter a new region - Myrkr Tunnels.

Use the Blades of Chaos on the red barrel - this will cause an explosion and allow you to go through the hole in the grate. There are monsters along the way - you can throw the Leviathan Ax at the Twilight Stones to deal more damage.

When you get to the locked gate, set fire to the oily substance with the Blades of Chaos. There will be an explosion, opening the way forward.

Defeat more monsters and talk to Sindri. Move the cart and you will reach a puzzle related to the Twilight Stones. Interact with the chain and ask Freya to create a seal at the location shown in the screenshot. Throw the Leviathan Ax at him.

Now you can let go of the chain (thanks to the seal, the freeze effect still works) and approach the frozen object. Throw the Leviathan Ax so that it bounces off the Twilight Stone and hits the shield behind the bars.

Defeat Bergsra (be careful and dodge her red attacks) and follow the new path.

You will reach a room with gutters and water wheels. There are 2 puzzles here. The first one is very easy. Freeze the chute section above the wheel (screenshot above). A narrow passage will open - use it.

Deal with the encountered Nightmares and other opponents. Climb to the top ledge and get to the water through the control mechanism - the one shown in the screenshot above. Interaction with the mechanism will rotate one of the through holes.

Go back to the hall with the gutters (you can unlock the shortcut along the way). Now the second part of the puzzle:

  • Create a seal in the highest chute (screenshot above). Now throw the Leviathan Ax into the seal.
  • Take the ax and hit the bottom above the second wheel that you haven't activated yet. The wheel will start spinning and the exit from the room will be unlocked.

There are 2 enemies here that you can use traps on - damage the barrels and set fire to the spilled substance. Moreover, attack the beasts one by one. Raise the grate and climb up. Returning to the surface, you will find yourself in a new region - the Forge.

Destroy the Ghost of Nightmares to free the elevator

Brock will be Kratos' new companion. During the journey, destroy the nests of monsters that you encounter so that they do not appear again. Investigate the locked gate and elevator - you will find out that the platform leading to the forge is blocked by a nest of monsters. You will need to get there by choosing the mountain path on the right.

Kratos and Brock will reach an area that has a puzzle where you need to set the wheel in motion. Start by setting the bushes on fire with the Blades of Chaos. This will allow you to access the elevator, but not make it move again.

Climb to the nearby ledge and freeze the geyser with the Leviathan. Move around a bit, take the ax and throw it at the second geyser (screenshot above).

The elevator is now activated. Wait for the dwarf to reach your destination and return along the same path to the elevator. Stand on the platform, turn to Brock and ask him to use the mechanism (Square).

After leaving the elevator, turn right and go up to the highest ledge. Ask Brock to use the mechanism again (Square).

You must throw the Leviathan Ax at the newly opened geyser (screenshot above). After the geyser freezes, ask Brock to use the mechanism one last time. The wheel will be set in motion - wait until the exit is unlocked. Take the ax and get to the exit.

The new path will lead you to a locked platform - throw the ax at the monster's nest and destroy it.

Return to the very bottom, that is, to the area where you learned about the blockade. Brock and Kratos can now use the platform to get to the Forge.

Repair Switch

Get with Brock to the new mechanism and you will find that the lever is broken - you have to help Brock fix it. It's easy - get to the interactive crystals, use the ax on them (R2) and return with the ingredients to the dwarf. Perform these steps a total of 2 times.

forge weapons

Return to the damaged lever - now you can use it. You will meet the Lady of the Forge and you will unlock a new weapon - Draupnir's Spear. To equip it, simply press the D-pad down.

You can try out new weapons as soon as a group of monsters appears. You can perform melee attacks with a spear or throw (reserve very quickly) and explode it (Triangle). Later in the game, you will also unlock upgrades and the ability to add light and heavy runic attacks. What's more, you've gained access to the spear skill tree - where you can spend XP on new abilities.

Find a way down the mountain

This is the first time you need to use the spear to open the way forward - equip it, aim and throw it at a visible weak spot (screenshot). After the throw, explode the spear and it will clear the path. Now you can climb higher using the spear.

You cannot aim at the holes at too great an angle, otherwise the spear will not be stuck accurately.

Ahead, the heroes will face a large boulder. Destroy the nearest monster nest and explore the area on the left. Find a rift where you can throw a spear (screenshot). Once the spear is in place, detonate it and the barricade will be destroyed.

Squeeze between the rocks and get rid of approaching opponents.

In the new location, you will use the spear as climbing equipment for the first time. Find a new weak spot, take aim and throw a spear at it. The spear will get stuck and you can grab it to get to the higher ledge.

Keep climbing and use your spear to knock down another large boulder. You will reach a place where you need to fight two ogres - to make things easier, stun one of them and jump on his back to use him to defeat other opponents.

After the battle is won, find another weak point and blow up the spear. There is a shop along the way, but you probably don't have the necessary resources to upgrade your spear yet.

Get down with a rope.

Return to Sindri when you're ready.

After the cutscene depicting the meeting, you need to head to the nearest Mystic Gate. Expect battles in which you will face, among other things, Einherjar warriors - watch out for their bifrost attacks. Switch between all types of weapons to make the battle as easy as possible.

The main path will lead you to the cart - use it.

Head towards the water. In the place in the picture, use the spear as an additional ledge. This will allow you to reach the new Mystic Gate - Nidavellir Beach. Use it to return to Sindri's house.

Talk to Sindri and go to rest. A new scene with Faye will be activated - move away from her and follow the marked swim route. The focus switches to Atreus and during the next quest (Unleashing Hel) you will take control of him.
