How do I register for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited beta test?
Valve recently unveiled its upcoming iteration Counter-Strike 2 or CS2. It is based on the popular CS:GO shooter and brings many new changes including improved graphics, gameplay mechanics and more. While the game hasn't launched yet, some lucky fans can already take part in the game's limited-time beta testing phase.
Counter-Strike was originally launched as a mod for Half-Life. The game soon received the honor of being a full-fledged independent title. The game has gone through several iterations since then, the latest being Counter-Strike: Global Offensivewhich was launched back in 2012.
However, CS's journey is far from over and recent events have brought the franchise back to life. The huge esports game is making waves in the shooter genre and fans can finally get their hands on the game.
Everything fans need to know about the Counter-Strike 2 limited beta phase
The limited testing phase for Counter-Strike 2 is currently running. Players who meet the conditions will receive a notification in the CS:GO main menu. If players are prompted to join the quiz, all they have to do is simply click the "Register" button and they can start downloading the game.
Once the download is complete, proceed to launch CS:GO and the game will offer users the option to access the Counter-Strike 2 test version. Clicking on it will launch a new game and players will be able to play the latest iteration of the game.
However, not all players will be eligible to participate. Valve stated that players who have recently played on their official servers have a good trust factor in CS:GO and have a good Steam account status (i.e. if users have previously been banned from CS:GO they are not eligible to participate in the restricted test) are more likely to be selected for the restricted test. But that doesn't mean that if users haven't played CS:GO recently, they won't be eligible.
The limited testing phase is rolling out gradually, with more players arriving every day. Counter-Strike 2 currently scheduled for summer 2023 and a testing phase will likely be available leading to launch.
Currently, players can access familiar game modes such as Deathmatch и Unranked Competitive matchmaking в Dust 2. However, the developers have made it clear that more maps and modes will be released in the game's beta phase over time.
That's all there is to know about the initial limited testing phase of Counter-Strike 2 for now. It’s worth noting here that the game will only be available on Windows PC for now.
