How to join the Diablo Immortal CBT: dates, new features and the Necromancer
Blizzard has revealed more about Diablo Immortal, including how to join the closed beta, new preview dates, and the new Necromancer game class.
Diablo Immortal will be an MMOARPG studio for iOS and Android that brings the classic dungeon crawler to mobile devices. Blizzard is planning multiple rounds of beta testing for its free-to-play game.
The latter will serve Android phones as the developers prepare Immortal for a 2022 launch.
Below you will find everything you need to participate in the Diablo Immortal Closed Beta.
Diablo Immortal Closed Beta Dates
Diablo Immortal closed beta testing started on October 28 for Australia and Canada. The beta testing window is only available for Android devices as Blizzard is testing microtransactions in the game.
Canada | 17:00 (PDT) October 28 |
Australia | 17:00 (PDT) October 28 |
Blizzard also plans to expand test regions to South Korea, Japan and China in the future.
It's unclear exactly when the closed beta will end, but the developers want the beta to "run for less than three months" to test late game systems.
How to join the Diablo Immortal Closed Beta
Anyone wishing to join the closed beta of Diablo Immortal will need to pre-register on the game's website.
Signing up and joining the beta is free, but only a limited number of players in the regions where the live trials are running will be able to try out the early build.
Diablo Immortal closed beta pre-registration:
- Go to site Diablo Immortal
- Sign in to your Blizzard account
- Scroll down to Pre-registration.
- Click "Pre-registration".
Blizzard expects "tens of thousands" of players to participate in the closed beta as they stress test servers and gather feedback as they play.
Diablo Immortal Necromancer and new features
This time around, Blizzard will be expanding the Immortal Beta content with the classic character class, the Necromancer, as well as new in-game features.
Longtime fans of the franchise will immediately recognize the Necromancer. The Undead Lord is available immediately in the closed beta testing of Diablo Immortal.
Cycle of Discord and PvP Renewal
In the new PvP Endgame, players will team up to take on other groups in Rite of Exile. The winners of the Rite will move on to the Challenge of the Immortal, in which 30 players will fight against a single Immortal.
The developers will also introduce the Battlefield Ladder, where PvP will "compare their skill against other players in their realm."
Diablo Immortal set items and upgraded items drop
While looting dungeons, Diablo players will have the option to complete Endgame item sets for secondary equipment slots.
This includes items for arms, legs, rings (2), neck and waist. Completing the set grants additional effect bonuses. Each set provides two unique bonuses: the first one will be unlocked for having three set items, and the second one will be unlocked for a full set of six items.
Bonus effects can affect everything from health, movement speed, damage, basic attack attributes, and crowd control abilities.
Meanwhile, the improved item drop system will reward players with better loot as they progress through the Paragon level and select higher difficulty levels.
Challenge Rifts and Helliquary PvE Update
The Addicvarium has received an update that makes it harder to boss and raid up to eight people. Goals will change weekly, which makes it harder for the players.
To get the best loot in the game, players need to complete the weekly Challenge Rift challenges. Blizzard places the best upgrade materials in the Rifts of the Trials, which "cannot be obtained in any other way."
There's a lot to look forward to in the Diablo Immortal closed beta as we get closer to the game's official launch in 2022.
