How to get to the Vault in Teardown
Get your hands on goods on Hollowrock Island by playing Teardown.
How to open the Teardown vault? Hidden in the basement on Hallorook Island is an intimidating metal door, and your tools won't dent its hardened surface - yes, we've experienced that too. Riches await in the room behind, but they are locked and out of reach.
While I haven't found a way to open the vault normally, there is a way to access its hidden room in other ways. You'll need a few items to take with you on your daring heist, but it's definitely worth taking a little detour from the main objective to earn some extra cash. I'm here to help you get access quickly so you can get back to doing more missions. Here's how to open the vault and grab the treats inside, as well as bad news if you stumble upon the Teardown safe.
How to get money in the Teardown vault
To find shelter, jump off the lifeboat, walk forward and up the stairs. Follow the sidewalk to find a large brick building. Enter the house and go through the doorway on the right, then open the wooden door and go downstairs.
If you have tried to open the vault, you know that even your best tools, including a sledgehammer and bombs, will not be able to get through the steel door. Even the walls on both sides are reinforced. So while you can damage the wall to see it from the other side, you can't slip through it. As far as I can tell, the vault can't be opened, so we need to find another way into the room.
After spawning in the BlueTide Computers mission on Hollorook Island, jump off the boat and immediately turn left. Walk along the water's edge to the gray rock ahead. Once in the rocky caves, turn right and immediately look up to see a metal grate located in the ceiling above. You can open it by hitting it with a sledgehammer to break the vertical duct tube.
Now head up the narrow channel as it leads to a room behind the vault door. You can do this with as few as eight wooden planks, but there's nothing wrong with updating the number you start with on the computer terminal before starting the mission. Then continue laying down the boards to reach the top of the vertical pipe. The easiest way to start is by placing a plank vertically from the opening to the floor, then attaching a diagonal plank to create a small ramp (above). Get on the ramp and add a couple of short horizontal boards, like makeshift steps. Keep placing them all the way and keep jumping on them until you reach the top.
Once you get to the top of the air duct, go through and open the grate at the end to access the room. You can do this quickly with a blowtorch. On the table is $400 with your name on it, and on the floor is a stack of gold bars worth $2500. Grab the goods and use them to continue funding your mischievous destruction in Teardown.
What to do with the Teardown safe?
Long before you unlock the BlueTide Computers mission on Hollowrock Island, you'll be taking on the Making Space mission at West Point Marina. The objectives of this mission are quite simple, if a bit strange. To try and destroy someone's proof of ownership of a neat little shack, you need to tear down the shack, take Ophis's safe, and dump it in the ocean.
There is no known way to open the safe, so you can have fun getting rid of it. To get rid of the safe, drag it by holding RMB until it falls into the water. It's a good idea to keep a sledgehammer handy in case there are windows or other obstacles in your path. There is an additional task to drop the warehouse safe into the sea, so feel free to take it on.
