How to Parry in Resident Evil 4 Remake
В Resident Evil 4 Remake one of the most important items in your combat arsenal is your combat knife. Not only is this handy weapon useful for striking and slicing through enemies you encounter, but it can also be used to parry incoming attacks!
But how exactly do you get the parry to work? Luckily, it's pretty easy, and in this guide, we'll walk you through how to parry so you can make the most of your combat knife while playing through Resident Evil 4 Remake.
How to Parry in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Timing is key when it comes to using your parry effectively. You can execute it with the parry button that lands on your left stick if you're playing on console, or the space bar if you're on PC, but you have to time the attack on you correctly. As soon as your combat knife makes contact with your weapon, you should see sparks flying, which is your indication that the parry was successful.
If an enemy throws a weapon at you, you can also parry it with the right timing. And, more importantly, if you land with a perfect parry, it will open up an opportunity for you to launch a counter that will become obvious once the white marker appears above their head. Once they fall and you see them start writhing on the ground, you can use your combat knife again for a deadly attack.
Parry also prevents Leon from taking damage, which makes him great for defending when you're feeling overwhelmed.
If you find the parry button in a slightly awkward place for you, you can easily change it from the Options menu under Controls. Here, in the "Parry with […]" section, you can switch it to the right trigger / LMB.
