How to Find the Sandworm in No Man's Sky Origins
If you haven't spotted any yet, we have a few coordinates you can try.
Yesterday I spent most of the day trying to track down Sandworm No Man's Sky that have been added to Origins update . I went with the logic that the sandworm probably likes sand - seems reasonable - so I visited desert planets, scorched planets, arid planets - anything to do with cactus and lots of sand.
It turns out, based on community observations, No Man's Sky sandworms will appear on a wide variety of planets, not just desert types, so their appearance could be completely random. Many players have reported seeing them on planets with some radioactivity or radioactive weather, and this morning I finally found my first sandworm on a planet with radioactive moisture. Others report seeing them on luxurious planets with peaceful weather. Some spent hours searching, others started playing and spotted one within minutes.
How to find the sandworm No Man's Sky
Below you will find the coordinates of two planets where I have seen sandworms. One of them even spawns a sandworm in a few seconds on every visit.
The first set of coordinates listed below is for the moon, which was published Random-monkey on Reddit , and the second set is for the planet I found. If you haven't used coordinates in No Man's Sky before, I'll explain that in a bit.
Using the coordinates, enter the portal to the planet, jump into your ship, take off and land somewhere and jump out. When exiting the ship, an autosave will be created. Just load this save again and wait a bit. When I'm on the moon indicated in the top coordinates, the sandworm pops up a few seconds after loading my save, every time I try to do so. I even left the planet and came back, created a new save, and this is still happening. Here it is - the city of worms:
I don't have as much success with the bottom coordinates, it's my own planet, but I've seen a sandworm there twice, so it's definitely worth a try too.
While I'm not sure what the sandworms are for. I fired at one of my ship's cannons, but didn't see any damage numbers, so they're probably not ready to fight. They also do not harm the planet. They may be there simply for interesting and exciting sightseeing opportunities.
How to find and use the portal in No Man's Sky
If you have not used coordinates before, you will need to enter them into the Portal. Portals are located on every planet and moon in the game. Finding them isn't always easy (there's only one portal per planet, and the planets are pretty big), but if you have an exocraft with an upgraded scanner, you can use it to pinpoint monoliths, and if you find a monolith, it can tell you the location of the portal , giving you a Relic of Huck, Korvac's Shell, or a Vy'kin Dagger to exchange. You can find these items in containers, buy them at trading posts, or get them as quest rewards.
Otherwise, you can also find portals using planet maps purchased from the cartographer at the space station.
Once you find the portal, turn it on (this requires a lot of minerals) and enter the characters in the order shown in the images above.
