How to Find and Craft a New Bow and Arrow in Fallout 76

If you're looking for the new Fallout 76 bow added to the Wastelanders expansion, it's not hard to find: you just need to know where to look. You'll either need to visit the right vendors to buy a schematic for a Fallout 76 bow and then craft it yourself (along with arrows), or pick up the schematics as a reward from one of the new Wastelanders quest lines, namely completing the Duchess's quest line.
However, this is only a basic starting bow. There are better bows that you will eventually get access to, such as the compound bow, which will take a little more time and effort. The recipe for the Compound Bow will be available for sale when you reach a high level of reputation with one of the factions.

Where to find the bow in Fallout 76
If you just want to buy bow crafting schematics, start by visiting one of two new settlements in Fallout 76 Wastelanders: Crater, a raider stronghold built on a crashed space station in the north, or The Reliance in the south. With the lowest Cautious relationship rating from any faction, you will be able to trade for basic gear from their vendors.
For raiders, visit the AE-RI trader: she goes up the stairs under the sign "Guns Guns Guns". In Foundation, go to General Goods to Sunny.
Both vendors sell onion plans for about 300 caps. Once you've bought the schematics, don't forget to find them in your inventory and read them to learn the crafting recipe. Then you will be able to craft a bow on the weapon bench - you will find it in the "machine guns" list. Use a workbench to create arrows. Keep in mind that you can't use a bow while wearing power armor (boo).

Fallout 76 Wastelanders also has a compound bow, and it's a lot more work. You will need to complete quests for raiders or settlers to raise their spirits all the way up to the highest ranking ally in order to gain access to their specialized merchants. It will take a lot of quests to complete.
Also available are new bows that make your weapons even more deadly. You will find them in the Perception section. The archer perk (which can be upgraded to Expert Archer and Master Archer) will increase bow damage by up to 30%. The bow in front of me perk will allow your arrows to ignore the enemy's armor percentage.
