How to play Survivors in Dead by Daylight

Have you just purchased Dead by Daylight and don't know where to start? Interested in which survivors should start the thorny path to the heights of the game? Maybe we should take a closer look at that red-haired Meg over there in a sports top? Or maybe it's better to play for that funny bespectacled Dwight Fairfield? We have created this guide just for you, let's go!

foreword

It should be clarified that this small guide is designed primarily for those who have just begun to comprehend the essence Dead by Daylight. If you are a burnt mancer with rank XNUMX and prestige XNUMX on all characters, then this guide will most likely not give you anything new.

First, I congratulate you! You have become the owner of a wonderful game called "Dead by Daylight"! And now you have a natural question: how and for whom should you start the game? After all, everyone wants a pleasant and exciting game, and not a hassle with toxic players and campers.

About survivors

I'll start with the most important and important. Forget everything you could see in the video of this game. Especially if it's a HellHound YouTube channel. Not because they are some bad people. On the contrary, they are masters of their craft and do their "tricks" and tricks not for the first time. They actually feel the eyes of the killer on them. You are another matter: a young, but fresh piece of meat, which at the moment is not even capable of “beckoning” two generators.Second, be polite and don't be toxic. Don't click your flashlight (quick RMBs) and don't teabag (that's when you squat, as if teasing the killer). This will only aggravate and complicate your already short gameplay in the initial stages. After the match, be sure to praise the maniac (if he deserves it) and wish him good luck. I repeat once again: be mutually polite and try not to respond to rudeness.

If you do something wrong (according to others) and you are insulted, then just leave the lobby and look for a new match, because in these "disputes" the truth will most likely not be born.

Choice of character

- As you know, everyone likes to take Meg, because ... well, she is beautiful. You can look at her and lick your lips, but few people are looking at really worthwhile characters, just right for new players.

Claudette Morel is considered the top survivor due to the must-have perks: "Your Own Doctor" and "Insight in Botany". It is these perks that will allow you to take care of yourself, since in a match with random players you need to rely on yourself first of all. In addition, Claudette is a born ninja and can get lost in any tall grass. This is especially easy to do on the MacMillan estate.

- Know how to prioritize correctly: take useful characters first and transfer their personal skills to your favorite character. Try not to be tempted by the appearance of the characters. Think rationally!

Of the useful characters, it is worth noting Neia Carlson, who moves faster in a crouch, and, perhaps, William "Bil" Overbeck, who allows you to get up once and save a person with the help of "Borrowed Time" right from under the nose of the camper.

Meg is useful, but it should be upgraded much later, because, first of all, we learn to play hide and seek. If you have learned how to make sure that during the match you rarely get into the field of view of the maniac, then consider that you are ready for the mania. You can start early, but we'll talk about that later.

How to play as a survivor

Know how to properly prioritize.

The main goal of playing as a survivor is to start generators, but don't forget about your comrades who also help you survive! Unhook for a second from your generator when your comrade in misfortune is hung on a hook and try to save him. For this, you will get even more points than for a fully wound generator (excluding skill checks).

— Facecamp example. Do not waste time and run to repair the generators (if there are any left).

- Do not sit zombified by the generator. Be an altruist! Did you see the wounded? Run up to him and patch up the poor guy. A maniac will roll out egoists much faster, even if you start generators without stopping. Without a team, it won't do much good.

- Remember: the more survivors left on the map, the higher your chances of escaping, because each team member plays a role: someone repairs, someone is looking for a cursed totem, and someone distracts the maniac.
Now we come to a sensitive and unpleasant, but at the same time very important topic. You were hung on a hook. What to do? First of all, do not try to escape yourself, this is a very bad idea! Know how to properly use the position.

- In the first phase, you can give signals to more experienced survivors about the situation around you: without adjusting the pull-out scale, you can indicate that you can be filmed and no one is around.

- Or just hang without moving, thereby indicating that you are being camped, patrolled, or simply created unfavorable conditions for your rescue.

Be sure to take your colleague in misfortune off the hook. Especially if the maniac left his hanging carcass.

You only need to get off the hook if you are 99,9% sure that no one will come to your aid (for example, everyone is already hung on the hooks). And if you get camped, then just hang on the hook and let the others start the generators.

- This is important: do not freak out and do not die as quickly as possible. Respect your matchmates. Unless, of course, they are good guys and have not harmed you in any way.

Palette or life?

Let's get down to perhaps the most difficult part of this guide: mansam. So you have seen enough vidos on the game and think that you have gained "Experience". Nothing like this. Watching your favorite let's player and playing in person are two completely different, and sometimes even opposite things.

Each person has his own style of play: someone is used to hiding in a closet or behind a pebble, avoiding direct contact with a maniac, and someone prefers to run out to the center of the map and attract the killer's attention. That is why you, as a newly minted survivor, should gain experience and understand how to save a palette, deceive a maniac, where a flashlight is useful and where it is not. All this must be learned from personal experience.

- First, I'll tell you about the main mistake of the surves: some immediately drop the palettes as soon as they run up to him. You don't have to do that!

Firstly, it reduces your chances of survival, and secondly, you can run 5 more circles around it before resetting - and this will give your team time to start the generators. If there is a window nearby, then try to jump into it first, and only then throw the palette.

The second rookie mistake: dropping boards after a hit. At this point, you have a 3 second boost. You “kill” him by throwing the pallet and “burning” the barricade itself, although you could still safely wrap 3 circles around it.

- Some killers may pretend to be friendly to the survivors. Always treat such actions on the part of the killer with caution.

- Third mistake: do not mindlessly jump over the boards like hares! Especially in cases where the killer quickly bypasses them. Don't let the maniac fool you!

- Remember that after breaking the palette, the maniac loses bloodthirstiness (a bonus to speed that accumulates as you chase).

A window into the killer's nerves

- You can only jump into one window 3 times, so do not abuse it, but use this opportunity wisely. Otherwise, you will either have to look for a new hiding place or wait for the window to unlock (30 seconds), which is not so easy.

- You can try to deceive the maniac by pretending that you are going to jump out the window, but approaching him, sharply run back to the right or left. But this trick doesn't always work. Maniacs have a huge hitbox and can pull their punch out for a decent distance.

- Try to combine windows or a palette window. This will give you much more time for your teammates to start the generators and you successfully escape the map.

-Remember that jumping through the window with a shift boost and jumping without a shift boost have different times. In the latter case, the maniac may have time to hurt you while you climb through the window.

A few words about the important

Don't run in a straight line. Maniac is ALWAYS faster than you! Try to look for ways to "reduce": pallets or windows. Remember that closets aren't always searched, but it's not always a good idea to abuse them either. If you need to hide in a closet, then try to find one that is not located next to a half-powered generator, or one that is close to it.

Hide as you would, playing for a maniac, did not guess. If that doesn't help, then don't hide in closets at all. Don't think that no one will notice you with a brain closet: a long stay in a wooden mackintosh calls crows over your head, which give away your location very well. And getting rid of them is not very easy if you are a bad runner.

— The closet is not always safe.

- And if you are injured, then it is better to forget that the box will be a good shelter: the screams are very well heard, and a pool of blood can give you away.

No one forbade cleaning ordinary totems, but they were of no use: only blood points. Whether deal accursed totems. As you rank up, you will see them more and more often, so you should pay attention to them. See the burning totem? Break it down as soon as possible. The killer will lose the perk and you will save yourself some time.

- Don't forget about the special abilities of assassins. It is very important to know the strengths and weaknesses of each of them.

- Chests are useful. If you find one, then you should search: what if you find something interesting? But you don't have to chase them! These are "side by side" things.

- Generators - that's what your attention should be directed to. Here is a chain of action importance: helping comrades, setting up generators, cleaning cursed totems, searching chests and cleaning ordinary totems.

Сonclusion

Let's sum up a little and highlight the main points when playing as a survivor.

1. The goal of the surve is to escape, so you need to start the generators as soon as possible and open the gate.
2.Teammates are your support. Learn to save them and, most importantly, don't be afraid to be caught.
3. Find your play style, but at the same time, be able to play both stealth and mans. Otherwise, problems may arise.
4. Be able to comprehend your moves. Don't run mindlessly.

If you read this guide to the end, then you were interested and you took out at least a small fraction of useful information for yourself. Thank you for your attention and good luck playing.
