Rockstar insider claims the next GTA won't be called GTA 6
The next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series has finally been announced, but the highly anticipated title may not be GTA 6, according to a Rockstar Games insider.
Rockstar Games has taken the internet by storm by officially announcing that development on the next GTA game is "in full swing" and as expected; Fans have been craving new adventures and settings ever since GTA 5 was released almost 10 years ago in 2013.
Both developers and Rockstar bosses have so far been positive about the game, with no clue about its location, characters, or even its title.
As speculation grows over the next entry in the series, a Rockstar insider claims to know not only the game's location, but also its title. Shockingly, this may not be GTA 6 as many thought.
Will GTA 6 be called GTA VICE?
According to Matheusvictorbr's sources, the title of the next GTA game will not be GTA 6. Instead, the title could be a serious pun.
"Hearing some internal hype about the name of the next GTA franchise, something like 'GTA Vice,'" he said. "Subject to change upon final announcement."
Rumors have been circulating for some time now that GTA 6 will see a return to Vice City. In fact, new images found inside GTA Trilogy seemed to hint at just that, with some players believing that the first screenshot of GTA 6 was planted by Rockstar.
Vice may also have a connection to crime, as the "vice unit" is a police unit that specializes in dealing with drugs and other illegal activities.
As some users pointed out in a statement to Matheusvictorbr, Rockstar may be styling the title as "GTA VIce", with some emphasis on the first two letters, which would appear as a Roman numeral for 6, in line with the series' trend.
Until Rockstar themselves announce the name of the next GTA game, take this leak with a pinch of salt, but hopefully we won't have to wait long for some kind of official trailer - especially if the game does come out in 2023, as many expect.
