Fortnite Players Demand Baby Yoda Rework
Fortnite players have discovered a bug that causes their Baby Yoda cosmetic, aka The Child, to become useless as it prevents them from aiming properly.
Season XNUMX of Epic Games' popular battle royale saw a major transition when The Mandalorian made his way to the Island. In addition to the skin, hang glider and Beskar armor, players can unlock the Baby Yoda back decoration.
Getting a pet on your back is no easy feat, as players need to reach Battle Pass level 100 to be able to wear the adorable Grog. This means participating in many battles and weekly challenges to earn such important experience.
Now, as Season 5 draws to a close, players are gradually starting to unlock Yoda, but many are facing the disappointment of learning that their hard-earned bounty isn't working.
Baby Yoda in Fortnite Broken
In a Fortnite subreddit thread with over 10k votes, a Reddit user Sweggyboy highlighted the actual problem: when you have Baby Yoda, you can't see where you're aiming at all, as it blocks more than half of the screen.
The problem occurs when the player gets in and out of the car, causing Baby Yoda to become static. This is probably due to the fact that the pet hovers behind the player, and does not rest directly on their back, like capes and backpacks.
You can see the moment Baby Yoda locks the player's screen in Fortnite below. SweggyBoi and a number of other Reddit users called on Epic to acknowledge and fix the issue.
Of course, a simple solution to this problem would be to simply not use Baby Yoda. But when most players spent real money on the Battle Pass and devoted hours of gameplay to unlocking cosmetic items, their frustration is understandable.
How the hell did this pass the playtests? asked one Reddit user, while another added: “The view is really terrible, with bulky skins and a backpack. Although this one is superextreme. Hopefully we finally got some field of view tweaks so we can use more skins without blocking half the screen.”
Others highlighted another issue with Fortnite's Baby Yoda Back Bling: "It sticks out so far from your back that when you're hiding, it either goes through a wall or comes around a corner."
While recent superhero custom skin controversy led players to accuse Epic of supporting "pay to win" cosmetics, Baby Yoda's back ornament is jokingly referred to as "pay to lose" as it actually hinders the game.
Hopefully Epic Games will release some kind of fix for this issue in the near future.
