HYTALE MOD INFORMATION
Modding seems to be one of the central focuses of the game. You'll be able to change just about any aspect, and they'll include tools to let you dig deeper into item creation and whatever else you'd like to customize. Here is a quick overview of what they plan to support and use.
Extensive modding including: "damage values for animations, models, weather, combat mechanics, etc."
An extensive set of tools from model creation to animation and filmmaking.
You will be able to run your own servers, including adventure servers and mini game servers.
HYTALE AVATAR CUSTOMIZATION
If you're a big fan of Minecraft skinning and customizing your avatar, then you'll love Hytale. The game has a built-in area where you can customize almost everything related to your clothes and appearance. Here is a screenshot of the character creation UI:
HYTALE CRAFTING ITEMS
Just like in Minecraft, you will be able to customize a range of items. At first glance, it seems that instead of placing ingredients in a certain way, in Hytale you just need to have certain items in your inventory. Keep in mind that this is still a work in progress and things may change drastically as we move towards release. Here is an early screenshot from the Workbench interface:
As you get deeper into the game, you will potentially be able to craft and loot higher grade weapons with unique stats. Here's a look at some of the clues from those more advanced items.
HYTALE NPCS AND MOBS
Hytale looks a bit more structured in the game lore and creates a bunch of NPC factions and societies with their own cultures and habits. Two of the ones we know in the early stages of development are Kweebecs and Trorks. Kweebecs will be potential allies and a peace-loving group, while Trorks are a bunch of tough enemies! Find out more in the screenshots.
Peaceful Kweebecs will evolve and age over time. When they eventually stop moving completely, having wasted all their energy, they will become a tree!
The game will have a lot of living creatures running around the world. From the friendly ones like Chickens and Antelope to the most feared pack-hunting saber-toothed tigers!
If you go deeper into the dungeons, you will find many evil things that will seek to destroy you! This includes certain boss encounters that will test your gear and combat abilities. We hope to learn more about this in the future!
HYTALE BIOME
It looks like there will be many different zones, and each will be unique. Each zone will have the ability to have different biomes. For example, in zone 1 shown in the concept art below, it can have multiple biomes such as: forests, lakes, hills, ravines, and others.
Zomes will have its own set of blocks and various content, which can include furniture sets, NPC races, and all sorts of creatures, plants, and geology. Ocean zones will have deep potential.
There will also be pre-made dungeons that allow you to go deeper into caves and fight specially generated mobs for that dungeon. If you go deeper, you will eventually come across the "last room" which will provide a challenge and rewards.
Once you reach a certain point, you will be able to engage in hand-to-hand combat called Portal Dungeon. This will limit you to what blocks you can break and will challenge you to get past obstacles and will probably lead you to a big prize if you complete it. Here is an example of what is called the Temple of Gaia.
HYTALE MODEL CREATION
If you're into customization and creation, then Hytale Model Maker is the place to be where you can spend a lot of time. This is the browser and modeling, texturing and animation application that comes with the game. We got a little more information on this in a recent official blog post.
Here is an example of using this tool to create a new sword:
And here's a look at Hytale Model Maker, which is used to animate zombies from the game:
You can also cooperate with your friends in real time! You can see an example of real-time collaboration in this video:
HYTALE SERVERS
Another great part of Hytale is that you will be able to join servers within the game itself. You can browse a whole group of community servers and when you download one of them will automatically download any assets or resources it needs to run. You will be able to sort by the type of games you want to play, such as adventure mode, mini-games, co-op or competition. Learn more about Hytale's server technologies in their blog.
