Hood: Outlaws & Legends Walkthrough, Guide, Manual, WiKi, FAQ
Hood: Outlaws & Legends uses a unique PvPvE structure. This guide will help would-be Robin Hoods succeed early in the game.
Being a criminal is not easy. Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor sounds easy enough. But given the long hours, the lack of health benefits and the constant threat of jail time, there's a reason it's not the most in-demand profession in Nottingham. However, Hood: Outlaws & Legends by Sumo Digital's provides plenty of reasons to play.
In this uniquely designed heist game, two teams of criminals must infiltrate a military stronghold in hopes of stealing a treasure chest. The chances of a successful raid are slim. They will not only have to fight their rivals, but they will also have to maneuver around a lot of deadly NPCs.
Luckily, the guide below Hood: Outlaws & Legends help future Robin Hoods succeed.
Form the right team
In most cases, the best team in Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a balanced team. Having one character of each class gives players the most options during a given match. Unfortunately, during matchmaking, this opinion is often ignored.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends consists of four different classes:
- Robin Hood (Ranger)
- Little John (brawler)
- Marianna (Hunter)
- Took (Mystic)
Everyone brings something unique to the table.
Hunter “small stature and magic invisibility make her the best killer in the game. Ranger can identify/tag enemies from great distances. Moreover, this is the kind of character that can accurately aim an arrow right at the skull.
On the other side, Brawler can use its power to open alternative routes to and from the given stronghold. He is also the best at carrying a heavy treasure chest. A Mystic - The only support character who can heal and buff his teammates whenever possible.
Of course, there is more to every character class. Their passive abilities allow for interesting strategies; Having two brawlers can be advantageous considering how quickly they can carry off the stolen goods.
However, choosing to play with the same characters only works when everyone understands what they are trying to do. And it looks like a failure when there are random players who do not want to use voice chat.
In essence, flexibility in choosing characters will help when entering a lobby full of Robins.
Consult the map
Most of the cards in Hood: Outlaws & Legends big. There are several interesting locations - barracks, camp, fortress, etc. - several routes in and out of the area, and many opportunities to ambush the enemy. There are also random elements such as the location of the Sheriff of Nottingham; players need to get hold of his key in order to open the treasure vault.
The key is to study your surroundings. . In this regard, it will help to raise the card from time to time. Just hit "TAB" on PC and you'll get a full layout with little green dots representing your teammates.
Note: by for some reason (at least on PC) the game doesn't provide this information; at the time of writing this article, the function was not in the settings the controller or mice and keyboards . We were only able to find it by accident, when pressing "M" didn't have the desired effect.
Communicate and share information
Outlaws & Legends uses the system ping . By pressing the middle mouse button (left stick / L1 on the console), you will be able to highlight items, points of interest such as doors, enemies, and more. When this happens, your character will not only trigger whatever you ping, the item or enemy will also glow for a few seconds.
There are several reasons to share information with a team. The first is related to the exchange of experience and gold. When someone kills an enemy you've pinged, you gain assist points which help boost your special ability.
You can also warn people of impending danger. A quick ping can prevent a teammate from being killed by a dastardly hunter, or prevent them from accidentally falling into the clutches of a powerful sheriff.
The most important information comes from the key holder. Only the person with the key is told where the vault is. Therefore, it would be wise to share this information with your teammates before running off on your own. This can be done through voice chat or through the communication wheel - by holding the ping button and selecting “Come here” or “Come to me”.
Alert the guards at the right time
В Hood: Outlaws & Legends it is wise to use a stealthy approach. Slip past the guards or kill them silently. Take the alternate path to the citadel. Avoid the seemingly unstoppable sheriff. Basically, don't attract unwanted attention. Unless, of course, it helps your team get the treasure.
Alarming the guards is usually a bad thing. They will call for reinforcements, chase you and possibly kill you. However, the worst thing they can do is block a certain area. Lower the large gate that prevents the person carrying the treasure from leaving the citadel.
So why not alert them when the opposing team is trying to escape? Better yet, why not lead the sheriff directly to the opposing team? This walking behemoth cannot be killed; he can only be stunned for a short time. However, he can kill anyone who is at arm's length.
While your rivals are busy fighting these additional threats, you can sneak up on them and destroy them. - or steal treasures when they're not looking.
Separate
It's always good to have reinforcements during skirmishes. The last thing anyone wants is to be attacked from behind or killed by an opponent while fighting one of their teammates.
Staying close to allies is a smart move. However, sometimes well separated from each other .
Hood: Outlaws & Legends - this is a robbery. However, there are other goals to worry about as well. Take, for example, spawn points on a map. Each of these provides two main spawn points (one for each team) and three additional points located in key areas. Capturing one or more of them allows fallen teammates to quickly return to the fight.
Deviating from an action to block one of these points could be the difference between winning or losing. This is especially true in the last moments of the match. When your opponents are forced to go halfway through the map to stop you, it's much easier to complete the treasure hunt.
Another reason you might want to take a chance on your own is collection of information . When the opposing team grabs the treasure, they will start heading towards one of the exit points. At this point, it's time to stop them. The fact is that the game reveals their general location only when someone from your team sees a man carrying treasures . Once discovered, a chest icon will appear on everyone's hud to make it easier for your teammates to track it down.
Cunning is your trump card
Hood: Outlaws & Legends rewards strategic play. Use stealth to sneak around. Kill NPCs to enhance your special abilities. Check the map from time to time. Split if necessary. And don't go into battle with multiple enemies alone.
The most important thing to remember is that you don't have to complete all the tasks to win the match . You can let the opposing team do most of the heavy lifting. Sure, you'll miss out on bonus gold and experience points, but the biggest payday is securing the treasure chest.
For example, you can hunt down your enemies without them knowing. As a Hunter, I have been able to do this several times. Instead of rushing to attack the opposing team while they were loading the gold, I waited in the bushes near the exit point. From there, I pinged each of our opponents, signaling to my teammates who were running towards us to start a fight.
Our rivals could not escape. Of course they resisted, but they didn't know that we knew where they were. This led to several kills and we ended up stealing the win.
have fun
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a third-person heist that uses a fun PvPvE structure. It will take a little time to master the subtleties. Especially to "get good." However, improving the game doesn't really matter if you're not having fun.
Don't worry about the little things. Be kind in the chat and turn off poisonous players. Being a criminal is hard. This does not mean that your time in the game should be unpleasant.
