Finding a free back decoration (pet) for Guardians of the Galaxy Baby Groot in Fortnite Season 4 can be tricky, but our guide will help you figure it out. Looks like this little guy is pretty rare too.
Marvel characters have been appearing in Fortnite intermittently for some time now, but the biggest set arrived on August 27th when Season 4 Chapter 2 opened its doors. The map may not be much different, but everything else has changed a lot.
One of the missions players can take on is to rescue baby Groot. All you have to do is find it on the map and interact with it. However, those who have watched the Guardians of the Galaxy films know that he has become smaller than he was before.
All this complicates his search.
Finding the Location of Baby Groot in Fortnite
Knowing the general area where it can be found narrows things down, so this is a good starting point. The Holly Fences are the right place for this task.
The walkthrough below will explain the rest in detail, though as of August 27th it doesn't seem to be showing up for all players. I hope you become one of the lucky few.
- Load into the Fortnite game and jump from the battle bus.
- Use your hang glider to land on the Holly Fences.
- Visit the southwestern corner of the settlement.
- Find the Garden Center. It is surrounded by a huge fence. There are plants in the backyard.
- Search the plants and under one of them will be Baby Groot, ready to be rescued.

If you think it's a bit difficult, even with the instructions above, you're not alone.

As you can see, Groot is just waiting in his plant pot. However, don't be fooled, as the other area looks exactly like this one, and it's just an old garden gnome. Don't risk your life in vain!
This easter egg challenge could also come at a difficult time, because in trials 1 week 4 seasons players are required to make three kills in Holly Fences. This means more people than usual will be going there, so remember to watch your back when you're looking for this Guardians of the Galaxy character.
