Plot
В Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale we enter the Caribbean Sea from the golden age of piracy, that is, the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. As the captain of a pirate crew, we strive to win fame and fortune by maneuvering between the four colonial powers representing the interests of England, Spain, the Netherlands and France. During our adventures, we will meet the legendary corsairs, with whom we will try to catch up in pirate raids.
Mechanics
Like previous achievements of Gaming Mind, Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale focuses on turn-based gameplay. Players traverse the open world of the Caribbean and look for opportunities to earn money in the form of quests, hidden treasures and ships and coastal cities for raids. The clashes take place on fields divided into hexagonal fields, in keeping with the traditions of the genre, but during the fight you must keep in mind the conditions at sea.
However, at first it is better not to go far beyond the native port, so as not to meet with the powerful ships of local governors. That's why we need to expand our own fleet. There are 18 unique ship types to choose from, which can be further personalized by choosing weapons, hulls, and more, for a total of 360 combinations. In addition, the player character can be customized according to your preferences, choosing from 35 abilities.
During the game, you also need to take care of the mood of the crew, sharing it with loot and setting goals correctly before each raid. If we are too greedy or incompetent, we must reckon with mutiny on board. No less important is the choice of allies: both the legendary pirates and the governors of the colonies. Anyone can be a valuable support on the path to glory - or give us a lot of trouble. Game Modes Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale does not offer a multiplayer mode and thus is a strictly single player production.
