Genshin Impact Rift Guide: Elevators, Rock Gates, Columns, Stones and more
The Rift is an upcoming area coming to Genshin Impact, and we've got everything you need to know about these ancient ruins, from maps to deadly enemies to new mechanics.
Teyvat is home to numerous regions and cultures, but one place that continues to hold many mysteries is the Rift, a vast quarry area located in Li Yue.
First officially shown during live broadcast version 2.5, players got a full overview of all the mechanics of the new region before the release of version 2.6.
Here's what you need to know about going to the Rift.
Genshin Impact Rift Details
The Rift is a dark and mysterious place, which makes it all the more exciting to explore.
Hidden in the mountains of Li Yue, its depths stretch across the country. The quarry was formed after a celestial body crashed into the earth, resulting in a large mine.
The place is said to be filled with strange rocks and mysterious ores, while the soil and vegetation around the area have distinctive colors. Underground mines are the most treacherous areas, and what's more, unique fluorescent plants can be found in the depths of the Rift.
Esther, an NPC located on dragon backbone, notes that the climate of the Rift is different from the weather in Li Yue: "I have seen similar events in other places in the past, such as the Rift, so there may be some similarities in their respective terrain features."
An ancient geo-elemental dragon, Ajdaha, is also a native of the Rift before finding his way to the current dungeon. And given that the quarry has 14 different sub-areas, this is no small map update.
Genshin Impact Rift Map
The rift is divided into two parts, Underground and Aboveground, and contains a bunch of new locations. Below you can see the complete map covering the two areas:
Rift mechanics and puzzles
Genshin Impact Rocket Rocks
Throughout fault scattered many lifts left over from the miners. In addition, the location has special reactive stones that enhance your jumps (a sort of springboard). This will allow you to climb up faster.
Rock with amazing properties, contains air pumped into it under high pressure. Stepping on such a mechanism will instantly throw you into the air. This adds mobility, but makes the carefree walks of Travelers who do not follow what is happening under their feet risky.
Rocky Gates Genshin Impact
To penetrate the rift, it is necessary to destroy the Qixing Formation. To do this, you need to deactivate rocky gates nearby…
Players will have to parkour, because many of these mechanisms are in hard-to-reach places.
Geoformations in the shape of a cage Genshin Impact
Natural fallout that forms around the rock gates blocking the Rift. When hit with geogranum-enhanced blows, they fire crystal projectiles.
The direction of the projectiles depends on the direction in which the strike was made. Perhaps this can affect the rocky gates ...
In other words, if you want to launch a projectile to the left, then the mechanism must be hit from left to right, in a mirror image. For a shot to the right, the rule works exactly the opposite.
Genshin Impact Strange Stone Columns
According to legend, these are traces left after an ancient battle. When subjected to explosions and impacts from heavy objects, they resonate with other similar stone pillars and Geo-specified structures.
There are also large stone columns all over the fault. Travelers should look around carefully and use resonance to solve puzzles.
Genshin Impact Unique Gems
A mysterious stone connected to uniquely shaped stone pillars nearby. He seems to be able to resonate with these pillars. Perhaps the number of symbols on the stone corresponds to how many times it resonates in a short period of time...
When certain mechanisms in the Rift are activated by pressure, shimmering pyramids can be seen. Follow the direction they point to find traces of hidden chests.
Forge: Equivalent to the Permafrost Tree and Sakura in the Rift
You will upgrade the forge with the ore you collect (like the seals of Electro).
You will also need to level up this very ore in order to get through to darker areas, similar to Electrogranum.

Lightbringer Adjuvant - Breach Gadget
Lightbringer Adjuvant is a new rift gadget that will make exploring the area extremely difficult without it.
A valuable crystal that emits light in the Underground Rift Mines when equipped. It is similar in composition to Glazed Sand Crystals found only in the Rift, but contains much greater power. Let it be a small sun in the palm of your hand, giving light and comfort in the darkness. |
