Rune Guide Diablo II: Resurrected - Official Russian Localization

Diablo 2 Resurrected runes are small objects that, like gems, do not work until they are inserted into an item. When inserted into sockets, they imbue the item with magical properties.

How to use the rune

Runes add different properties to shields or armor. Runes can be improved; 2 or 3 gems of the same type, plus a gem of a certain type/quality, can be combined into Horadric cube,  to advance to the next higher rune level. Runes are most powerful when combined with special  runic words so be sure to check out their recipes.

On their own, runes act in a manner similar to gems and gems, although some of them have unique bonuses - if you insert them into an item with empty sockets, then this item will receive a corresponding bonus, which is activated when equipped on a character. Like all items in the game, runes are tied to the level of the location - for example, the rune Zod (Zod) cannot physically drop from opponents of the Throne of Destruction (Act V) location even on the Nightmare difficulty level, but it may well drop in Act II of Hell.

The usefulness of runes is not limited to runewords alone, as many builds such as finding magic items, collecting gold, low leveling, etc. rely on individual runes. Let's take the runes Ist (Is) and Lem (Lem) - they can be inserted in 6 pieces into 2 crystal swords with 6 sockets, used on a barbarian who can carry a weapon in each hand, and get a total of + 360% to the probability of finding a magic item, or 900% to gold for killing monsters with just two items.

Runes and their places of extraction

As for the ways and places to get runes, in the first case, they can fall out of absolutely any source (any monster, chest, boss, human remains or a broken environmental object) containing loot. In the second, we have given a table for obtaining the maximum possible rune by acts and difficulties (we repeat, the maximum possible runes are indicated - this means that, for example, in Act V of the "Hell" difficulty level, absolutely all 33 runes can fall out, and not just Zod (Zod):

  • Act I "Normal": Runes cannot drop from this Act's difficulty.
  • Act II "Normal": (El), Held (eld), Tire (Shoot) and Nave (Nave).
  • Act III "Normal": Et (Eth), Um (ith), Tal (Valley) and Ral (Ral).
  • Act IV "Normal": Avg (Place), Tul (Thule), Amn (Amn) and that (SOL).
  • Act V "Normal": Shael (shael) and Dol (Dol).
  • Act I "Nightmare": hal (Hel) and And about (Io).
  • Act II "Nightmare": Lum (Lum) and Ко (Ko).
  • Act III "Nightmare": Fal (Wall) and Lem (Lem).
  • Act IV "Nightmare": Pool (Pul) and Mind (Um)
  • Act V "Nightmare": Small (Evil) and Ist (Is)
  • Act I "Hell": Hoot (Yellow) and Vex (Vex).
  • Act II "Hell": Om (Ohm) and of the (Lo).
  • Act III "Hell": Sur (Public chat) and Ber (Ber).
  • Act IV "The Underworld": Ms. (Yes) and Cham (Cham).
  • Act V "Hell": Zod (Zod).
