Fortnite: Maya Skin Setup & Challenge Guide

We'll cover all of Maya's customization options, as well as all of the challenges you need to complete in order for Maya to unlock them! Maya is the first skin that has real custom options that let you create your own. While some of the options aren't as detailed as you might wish, it's still a great step in the right direction for players looking to make the skin of their dreams.

• Buy the Season 2 Battle Pass and visit the Mayan Sanctuary.
• Complete Maya's weekly challenges to be able to upgrade various pieces of your gear
• Preview your upgrade options and then permanently block them by completing tasks to create your own unique version of Maya.

Blocked updates

It is important to note that once you have completed the weekly challenge and locked your selection, you will no longer be able to edit this setting. It is selected permanently, you cannot change it. This means that you must be very sure of what you want to choose. The nice thing about the vault is that you can create your skin and preview what it will look like before confirming your choice. Be sure to create your skin and make sure you're completely happy with it, so once you've committed your choice, there's no going back.

LIST OF TESTS AND A GUIDE TO SOLVING THE MAYA CHALLENGES

A new challenge opens up every week and you can complete it to be able to customize that particular part of the Maya skin!

Week 1 (Hair): Reach an AP Specialist by dealing 250 damage with assault rifles in a single game (5)

It's a pretty obvious challenge, you just need to get the Assault Rifle Specialist achievement in five different matches. The easiest way to do this is to enter a Team Rumble, find a good assault rifle, stock up on ammo, and then use it exclusively in the game until you get the badge!

Week 2 (Tattoos): Match Top 20 Place (5)

While you may think that you will need to do this in regular matches, you can actually do it by simply logging into a Team Rumble game and completing it! You just need to play five of these matches.

All of the challenges below were found in the game files and may change at some point. None of the following tasks are available in the game yet!

Week 3 (Sleeves): Earn a Pistol Specialist by dealing 150 damage with Pistols in a single game (5)

ALL MAYA SETTINGS

Here's a look at all the customization options available for the Maya skin! You need to complete the challenge associated with this week to unlock the ability to choose from various options.

Hairstyle (Week 1)

There are four hairstyle options for Maya. Unfortunately, you cannot change its color.

Tattoos (2 weeks)

Tattoos are not well represented by preview icons. There will be quite a lot of ink on the hand, especially in the case of the snake preview, which simply has a star on it. She also has a lion's head, a sun, and "LEO" written on her right arm. The default tattoo is completely blank.

Sleeves (3 weeks)

The default sleeves are regular shirt sleeves, which are quite short. The "Sleeve" option is the longest, but it doesn't reach the wrist. The shirt is practically sleeveless.

Boots (Week 4)

The default boots and Boots 2 are the same, just different colors. The same goes for boots 3 and boots 4. You won't be able to choose your pants color until week 8!

Jersey colors (week 5)

In this jersey, you can find several options that you can play with. There are eight pattern and color options, each with a normal and full version. The sleeves of the regular version have a block of color that matches or is similar to the main theme. 

Vest (week 6)

You can decide whether to have a vest. You can't customize the color and it only covers the shirt slightly.

Headwear (week 7)

Helmets are pretty versatile, and equipping them will hide your hair and some facial features. If you want

Pants color (week 8)

You get a decent selection in the pants department, although there is no difference in terms of design. If you choose option 3 or 4 then these patterns/colors will affect the color of the back.

Face paint (9 weeks)

You can opt for a completely plain face, or you can just have makeup that shows different colored lips and some eye shadow. The other three face options have a bit of design and also use the Make Up version instead of the default look.

Scarf (complete all challenges)

The scarf is an interesting addition to the skin. You don't have to wear it, but if you do wear a scarf, you can choose from a selected group of colors, or you can choose your own color, which can be defined by choosing Hue, Saturation, and Brightness. You can pretty much create any color you want, so most people will probably want to wear something to add an extra touch to their skin!
