FIFA 21 Volta: Online Play, New Locations, Early Access and more…

FIFA 21 is fast approaching and EA has begun providing more details on all major game modes. Along with Ultimate Team, Career Mode and Volta Football Pro Clubs.
For the uninitiated, Volta was added to FIFA 20 as a mode vaguely similar to the old FIFA Street games; Combining street football with three, four or five sides in different locations around the world, with a story mode in the absence of The Journey.
However, FIFA 21 is redesigning the mode, adding new features and locations to further expand the Volta universe. Here's what's new.

Volta Squads is online
While Volta offered fun single player alternatives like Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs, a lot of players wanted to be able to play Volta online - and now you get your chance.
Volta Squads adds online play, offering players the option to "join together with up to three friends or join a community with other Volta Football players and win in 5v5 online play."
New stadiums and locations
FIFA 20 launched Volta Football with 17 different locations including Tokyo, London, Paris, Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro.
Now, EA SPORTS has revealed three of the five new locations they will be adding to FIFA 21. These are downtown Sao Paulo, Milan Street and the high-tech geodesic dome in Dubai.

Volta Featured Battles
Another new feature in Volta is Featured Battles. While we don't know much about the mode yet, you can recruit "the biggest names from the world of football and beyond" to your Volta squad in Featured Battles.
Using this squad, you can take on the AI-controlled stars as well as other squads from the Volta community competing for points and rewards.
Ability to type names from the football world and beyond Definitely food for thought. Can we see top athletes from other sports compete on the streets? Will have to wait and see.
Volt character customization
Character customization is back in FIFA 21, with more options for players to recreate themselves - or literally anyone - in the mode.
Male or female avatars can be created using new clothing from professional football clubs, street football teams, and celebrity-designed collections.
There hasn't been a full reveal of them yet, but the celebrity-made collections might be interesting - could they be linked to "the biggest names in the football world and beyond?"
How to play Volta early
The best way to get early access to FIFA 21 and Volta Football is with EA Access.
With EA Access, you'll be able to log into FIFA 21 a few days early, as well as get some cash out of the total price, as long as you don't mind paying the EA SPORTS subscription fee.
EA Access only gives players 10 hours of total play time, and it's not yet guaranteed that Volta will be included in this, although the trial version usually includes all game modes.
Alternatively, those who pre-order the game can sometimes get a little earlier, usually three days. These are the only two ways to play Volta earlier than the game's October 9 release date.
Will Volta be in the FIFA 21 Demo?
FIFA game demos usually don't include many game modes, usually just letting players get a feel for the new title before launching with a few selected teams in Kick Off mode.
However, it's not out of the question that Volta is included, especially since they're clearly trying to beef up the mod's presence this year, though we'll have to wait for official confirmation from EA SPORTS on what the demo will include.
That's all we know about FIFA 21's Volta Mode, though EA says the full reveal will be in August, hopefully with some more exciting details and answers to any questions that remain until the game launches in October.
Mode has taken a backseat in FIFA 20, but it's clearly undergoing a huge update in FIFA 21 and players can now expect a lot more from it. So, will you try? Let us know in the comments below.
