Why do you need Gold in Fortnite. New Quest System.
In the fifth season of Fortnite, tasks, rewards, gold bars and NPCs were added to the game. Here's how it all works.
Season 5 of Fortnite is here, bringing a brand new currency challenge mechanic. Here's how they work.
Since the release of Warzone, Fortnite players have seen the huge opportunity that the currency system brings to Battle Royale. Such a system immediately took first place in the wish list of every Fortnite player.
In Season XNUMX, Epic finally brought a currency system to the game - with Fortnite features, of course. Now you can interact with NPCs on the mapto get information, improve weapons, buy new ones or hire them to help.
You can earn currency by completing quests, eliminating other players, completing contracts, and finding it in caches. NPCs are scattered around the map - mostly in unnamed or old POIs.
There are too many quest givers here, and we counted as many as 40 people. When you get close to one of them, you will notice a square dialogue symbol with three dots above their names.
As for what you can buy, you can use Gold Bars to upgrade your weapons, buy new weapons/items, or even hire NPCs as your bodyguards - it all depends on the NPC you interact with.
The last option seems to be mixed since the NPC only has one weapon. We'll have to experiment and see which NPCs you want to hire and which ones you want to keep. So far, their abilities have not impressed us.
It's also important to note that you need to visit these quest givers before completing the gold bar quest. Experience quests do not give you the same gold rewards as in-game NPCs. Quests include bounty hunting for other players, gaining health/shields, collecting materials, or random things like throwing shields.
Gold bars, rewards, quests, and NPCs are a huge step forward for Fortnite and could do a lot with all of these elements in the future. It looks like this is just the first step towards a new way to play Fortnite.
