Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Get Dream Shards
Dream Shards are an important resource in disney dreamlight valley, but they can be a little tricky to find. Here's everything you need to know.
As with any life sim, disney dreamlight valley has a lot of grinding in the store to collect resources and items. One of the more elusive items since the game's release has been Shards of a dream, which are not only valuable, but also required for several different quests.
Here's everything you need to know about getting dream shards in disney dreamlight valley.
Where to Find Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Dream Shards are glowing pink crystals that will spawn from time to time, and there are currently three different ways to get them. Keep in mind that they are just an item in your inventory once you collect them, so be careful not to sell them.
Night Thorn Cleansing
The first and easiest way to get Dream Shards is to simply clear the Nightthorns, the purple vines that infest the various Dreamlight Valley biomes. Each time you remove a spike, there is a small chance that it will drop a dream shard, but this option will eventually run out.
When you first start the game, the main areas will be infested with these vines, so you will naturally get Dream Shards when you clear them. Once you remove them, they will slowly reborn. The same can be said for every new biome you unlock, such as Dazzle Beach and Sunlight Plateau. Clear all night spikes for light items.
Feed the animals their favorite food
All of the little critters that run around Dreamlight Valley, such as squirrels and sea turtles, can be fed, and each has a specific type of food that they like.
You can only feed the animal once a day, but every time you feed one of his favorite foods, chances are it will drop a dream shard. We have a guide who views favorite food of each animal.
Dig up the sparkling earth
The third and final way to get Dream Shards is by digging up sparkling patches of earth scattered around the world. This method of obtaining Dream Shards was added after launch.
Each day, these sparkling spots will spawn throughout Dreamlight Valley, and like the other two methods, there's a chance (not a guarantee) that you'll get a Dream Shard every time you dig it up.
How to Use Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Dream Shards are required for certain quests, including The Curse, so it might be a good idea to store them in one of the chests. However, they can be used in crafting to make two other useful items.
- Ten Dream Shards can be crafted into 250 Dreamlight, which is used to unlock new biomes and areas.
- Five Night Shards and two Dream Shards make up a Purified Night Shard, which can be gifted to a friend for a significant friendship enhancement.
Night Shards are more common than Dream Shards and can be found by removing spikes and digging. You should be able to find at least a few Dream Shards each day, so don't be afraid to use them for crafting if you need a little boost for Dreamlight or Friendship.
