It wasn't until contact with the Larry Memorial Institute was interrupted for a week that the true nightmare of what had happened there surfaced. Carter's experimental mining of information turned into a terrible and strange torture. Patients and prisoners were found dead or comatose with various types of head injuries. And in his office, the most horrific find was found - Mr. Stamper himself with a flayed head and a variety of electrodes and sensors introduced into his still working, but destroyed brain.
