Belarusian Gymnasts Performed in Tokyo to Music from The Witcher
The Witcher appeared several times at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but even he could not help gymnasts from Belarus win prizes.
This year the Olympic Games in Tokyo are marked by computer games and The Witcher. Two weeks ago we reported that the opening ceremony of the games was accompanied by soundtracks from several Japanese franchises. A few days later, photographs of Vitalina Batsarashkina, who won a gold medal in air pistol shooting with a witcher medallion around her neck, spread around the world. Finally, attention was drawn to the Belarusian gymnasts.
During their performance in the rhythmic gymnastics team, they used familiar music. This is, of course, the soundtrack from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As in the case of Vitalina Batsarashkina, the appeal attracted the attention of the players, who began to comment vividly on the performance of the Belarusians on Reddit. The response from the site's users has been very positive, with many commenting that this is probably the first Olympic Games where we've seen so many references to the games.
Unfortunately, the use of Wild Hunt music did not bring a sufficient dose of happiness to the gymnasts. They ended up finishing fifth and missing out on the bronze medal, losing by more than 3 points. Places on the podium were alternately taken by Bulgaria, Russia and Italy.
