Baal Genshin Impact: Everything We Know About Shogun Raiden - Inazuma's Electro Archon

Genshin Impact currently has two regions available to explore, Mondstadt and Li Yue. The next region to open is Inazuma, ruled by the Electro-Archon Baal.

This region will be the location of Chapter II, as teased in the "Chapter Storyline Preview" Inazuma will be inspired by Japan and will most likely introduce one of Gensin Impact's most anticipated characters, Ayaka, although recent reports may Kazuha will appear.

Inazuma is described as a "tense" and "dangerous" environment, according to Atsuko, an Inazuma fugitive who can be found in Li Yue harbor. Another person in Li Yue, Bibo, described the Inazuma border as “just impenetrable.”

Electro Archon Baal of Inazuma in genshin Impact

Baal is the current Electro Archon in Genshin Impact. She is not the original "Seven" because she did not participate in the War of the Archons.

The Archon War was an all-consuming battle that began when Celestia opened the seven thrones, promising the victors dominance over their element.

god of immutability

Each Archon in Genshin Impact has a Paragon. For example, Venti is the God of Freedom, and Zhong Ki is the God of Contract. As for Baal, she is the God of the Unchanging.

This title can be read in the description of "Vajrad Amethyst Gem", an elevation material for Electro characters. The description looks like this:

«This body is the noblest and most prominent of all in this world. It must certainly rule over this world. Once it promised to fulfill the dream of the people - unchanging eternity.»

Given that each Gem contains a description of its respective Archon (for example, the Geo Gems tell the story of Zhong Li), there are two different theories regarding this description. First, Baal speaks of himself and describes himself as having the noblest body. Another perspective suspects that Baal was not talking about herself. Rather, she spoke of the Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed God.

After announcing the Decree of the Vision Hunt, she said:

«Seven ideals for seven Archons. Of these, immutability is closest to heavenly order.»

Hunt for the Eye of God

From Zhong Li, we learn that Baal closed all routes to Inazuma and issued a decree on the "Hunt for the Eyes of God", with the goal of inserting all the Eyes of God into the statue of a thousand-armed hundred-eyed deity. Paimon also notes that a year ago things weren't so bad. Furthermore, no one, not even people born outside of Inazuma, has received a single Electro God Eye since the edict was issued.

As to the reason for this edict, Zhongli suspected that Baal thought visions were divine blessings, so they should be under the sole dominion of the deity. He believes that she has finally decided to eliminate any unstable elements that could threaten her eternal realm.

Shogun Raiden

Baal is known as the leader of Inazuma and its governing body, the Bakufu of Inazuma. Just as Morax is known in Li Yue as Rex Lapis, Baal is known in Inazuma as Shogun Raiden. She is predicted to resemble Raiden May's appearance from "Honkai Impact 3rd".

The Bakufu of Inazuma is the governing body of Inazuma, and it will likely be similar to the Qixing Group in Li Yue. Ayaka's family, Kamisato, is predicted to be part of Inazuma's Bakufu.

Apart from the Bakufu, there is another known entity, the Kanzobuge. They are the ones who control the Inazuma border and, as Atsuko described, conduct due diligence for any Inazuma citizens who hope to leave.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo hasn't announced a release date for Inazuma, but leaks saythat this will happen in update 1.7. This region has been highly anticipated by Ayaka fans since the beginning of Genshin Impact, as it may be a sign of the release of the Cryo Princess.

Also, according to rumors, in version 1.7 we are waiting for many other characters, natives of Inazuma. We know that Baal will be joined Sayu, eymia, Tom, Goro, Guji Yae и Kujo Sarah, the closest associate and right hand of Shogun Raiden.
