Kamisato Ayato is destined to get a seat on Genshin Impact, even if details about commission head Yashiro are still scarce. Here's what we know about Ayato, including his release date, abilities, and weapon type.

Ayato, older brother Ayaks, will almost certainly go free in Genshin Impact. Its existence has been leaked for months and now it's only a matter of time before miHoYo finally announces everything.

For now, however, we only have a few leaks and rumors to go public.

Here's everything we know about Ayato in Genshin Impact so far, including his estimated 2022 release date, expected abilities, and weapons.

Ayato release date in Genshin Impact

As of now, Ayato does not have a set release date for Genshin Impact. However, it is likely that Ayaka's brother will become a playable character in the future.

A verified insider stated that Ayato will be released in an update Genshin Impact 2.6, which should happen in a few months in 2022 year.

Ayato's abilities in Genshin Impact

Ayato's initial leaks classified the Kamisato clan member as a two-handed sword and hydro user. The combo will pair well with Ayaka's Cryo Sword for effective big freeze combos.

However, space is evolving. One of the NPCs in the game nobumori, suggests that Ayato wields both a sword and a spear, leading to speculation that he can switch weapons. However, these are all just hypotheses and nothing has been confirmed.

We now have our first images of Ayato. In the image below, against a maple leaf background, you can see what Ayato looks like next to his sister Ayaka. The leak appears to be related to an upcoming anime series for Genshin Impact - similar to what miHoYo created for Honkai Impact.

Ayato's weapon in Genshin Impact

As we just mentioned, Ayato's original weapon type was originally considered to be the Claymore. While leaks are certain that he is a hydro character, his exact weapon type is unknown. As it is still in early development, things are subject to change.

If Ayato is released as a five-star, he will also receive a banner weapon that matches his kit perfectly. Details about this are still being specified.

Ayato's story in Genshin Impact

Ayato is the head of the Kamisato clan, making him one of the most powerful people in Inazuma. Since the Kamisato clan controls the Yashiro Commission, an organization tasked with managing cultural activities in the region, being the head is no joke.

His sister, Kamisato Ayaka, also helps with the commission's affairs. There are some references to him in the voice lines of both Ayaka and Shogun Raidenhowever, he has not yet made any public appearances in Inazuma.

More will be revealed about Ayato and his story in the near future - possibly in a livestream for an update. Genshin Impact 2.4.
