Wild Frontier: Guide to How to Build the Best City in the Wild West

Wild West

Wild Frontier is a beautiful strategy game with a Wild West theme and lots of nice looks, from the real beauties you can achieve to all the other visuals in the game. And we're here to help you do better by sharing plenty of tips and cheats for Wild Frontier in our complete guide for beginners and more advanced players.

Even though Wild Frontier follows similar mechanics to other strategy/base games, it still has some unique features that will be covered in today's post.

Without further ado, let's first jump head first into the Wild Frontier tips and guide below!

Farms are insanely important in the game

Unlike most other similar games where resources are especially plentiful early on, Wild Frontier challenges you from the start in a food/farm situation.

Wild West

All the troops you train require food to subsist and very soon you will find yourself producing far less than you need even with fully upgraded farms and boosts.

This problem can be solved from the very beginning by using food bags and collecting or attacking other players, but you still have to try your best and keep these farms running at optimal capacity.

In other words, make sure you always upgrade all farms to the maximum level and increase their production: ideally, wait until the farms reach a decent level (at least 10 I would say) before starting to increase production, otherwise the bonuses will minimal.

Also invest Talent Points and Research to increase food production first (more on that later in the guide).

Focus on upgrading your town hall

My usual approach in games like Wild Frontier is to do things methodically: upgrade the town hall, then max out every other building before moving on and upgrading the town hall again.

But here I think your best bet is to focus on getting your town hall up to level 10 as soon as possible. This will bring all sorts of benefits, the most important of which is that you will have some decent farms to keep your food production on the green (or at least close range).

You'll also unlock the vast majority of building types in the game at level 10, and beat the main story enough to be in a good spot at that stage.

So, in conclusion, race towards the level 10 town hall as soon as possible, and then catch up with the more important buildings: farms, troop production units, hospitals and everything else.

Use promotion wisely

In Wild Frontier, you can use all sorts of upgrades, from power-ups to production and speeding up various things in the game, such as building or training.

They should be used wisely, but not accumulated. While the time required for updates will increase at a very rapid pace, at the same time, your 1- and 5-minute boosts will become less and less valuable over time.

In other words, a 1 minute download will have a greater impact when the total update time is 20 minutes than when it is 8 hours. So use them wisely in the early stages to progress as quickly as possible and upgrade as many buildings as you can with buffs.

A different approach is required with other boosts: the ones that increase food production (or something similar) are best used when your buildings are at a higher level to really make them count.

Doubling food production when you are producing 1000 food per hour is useless, but when the same farm is already producing 3-4 times that, doubling it gives a nice boost.

Don't rush to claim rewards for side quests

I always view side quest rewards (and even main quest rewards) as resources waiting to be used at the right time.

It makes no sense to collect rewards for all completed quests (and there will be hundreds of them) if you do not need these resources. Keep them when you're low on resources and collect them later.

The main thing you need to consider is the fact that you also gain experience with these quests, which helps you level up your character, which in turn unlocks additional talents.

But regardless, the XP boost isn't all that great overall, and I still recommend that you don't collect all of these rewards unless you really need the resources.

Attack the criminals

Wild West

When you're online, don't forget to attack the highest level criminals that you can easily defeat - do this over and over again until you run out of stamina.

You will receive many great rewards, including more unique rewards that are hard to get otherwise, such as materials for crafting equipment or upgrading the Command Center.

Meetings are even more rewarding as they provide better rewards, but you need to be in an active alliance to complete them.

Research "More Troops I" ASAP

When you start the game, you can only send one army to attack or gather on the map. Even though you don't really have troops to send out earlier, after a day or two you can actually use the second slot to march.

While you can purchase them with real money, you can also unlock a second slot for free by researching the Military Skill Tree until you get to More Troops I.

You will eventually get the opportunity to research March Troops II, but much later in the game. However, the +1 army slot can be unlocked, probably less than 24 hours after the start of the game: be sure to do it!

Constantly train all soldiers

While it's a real pain due to the maintenance costs involved in keeping them alive, soldiers are obviously vital in Wild Frontier and I recommend that you constantly train them: always train as many of the best units as you can.

Even though you will have trouble covering the costs of maintaining them, you need large armies to not only defend your city, but also to defeat higher level criminals, raid and, most importantly, collect large amounts of resources.

So having large armies, however expensive, is the only way!

Don't forget beauties!

beauty

An interesting feature that the game introduces is the beauties. You can access them from the Salon, where you can play card games to increase their affection or befriend them.

Both of these things will reward you with various bonuses, from passive boosts (which take a long time to unlock) to more active boosts like the extra VIP points you get from Wooing a beauty.

There are only three beauties available in the game at the moment and I recommend focusing on the first one (Mary) as her upgrades are more PvE oriented and therefore more useful early on.

Events are great for high rewards

The game is constantly evolving and you should always focus on completing as many tasks as possible because the rewards are extremely rewarding, ranging from tons of boosts and resources to more premium items and hero shards.

You have to actually set up your game and plan for future events. For example, "Fabulous" gives you points for using hero badges and XP boosts, so you should only use them when this event is active (once a week at the moment).

Plan your game based on these events to maximize performance.

Join an active alliance!

Being part of a large and extremely active alliance is also important in Wild Frontier. The reason you want to be part of an active alliance is, of course, the many benefits you can get.

Alliances are extremely important, from constantly sending with teammates, to buffing from the Alliance tech tree, and even protection from being targeted by farmers.

But one commonly overlooked factor is the time zone (or active hours of the members): you don't want an alliance that is just big and powerful, you want one that has members online where you can jointly launch attacks and profit easily.

Once you've found the reliable alliance you're looking for, use the teleporter to get close to your teammates and begin your quest to rule the world!

How to Invest Your Mayor's Talents

As you gain experience in the game, your mayor levels up and gains talent points that can be invested in various bonuses in the game.

But since these talent points are limited in quantity and there are a ton of skills you can invest in, you may be wondering where to put them.

While the Military category is the most obvious place where you need to drop most of your points, as a strong army helps you get better in all areas, I would recommend that you don't ignore a few vital talents early on.

For starters, invest in the Development section until you reach the maximum level of Food Production: there you will only get a 5% boost, which is not that early, but starts to matter when you upgrade your farms later.

In addition, increasing the load of troops in the Support category is a wise move, as it allows your troops to collect more resources each time they are sent.

But other than that, focus on the military skill tree, focusing on getting to the core skills: increased ability and march speed.

Heroes of the Wild Frontier

hero

The heroes in this game, at least as of this writing, are pretty much Premium. In other words, they are very difficult to unlock without spending real money.

It's nice that huge discounts are everywhere at the moment, which makes some heroes extremely cheap - at least the Purple ones.

For example, you can unlock Bessie as a first purchase bonus (by spending $1), even though she's not really the best hero in the game.

Wilson and the other Purple heroes are on sale right now for $10 and I recommend you get Wilson as he seems to be the best of the bunch, mainly buffing the Cavalry and eventually getting the ability to unlock a skill that allows him to send more troops into combat. .

You can get blue heroes a bit cheaper (with in-game premium currency), the best of which is Gordon.

Orange heroes are extremely powerful and useful, but at the same time insanely expensive and I don't think they're worth investing. I'm sure there will be events or special offers in the future to make them more accessible.

Keep making Gear

Don't forget about all the in-game features that you won't be using too often but that can definitely help in the long run, like crafting a Gear for your Mayor in the Armory.

Equipment can be crafted, upgraded, and dismantled when better options become available. I recommend that you don't upgrade the first gear set as it will soon become obsolete, but starting with Blue Gear, work on making the most of every item you craft and equip.

You will get crafting materials mainly from attacking criminals and winning rally battles, so try to do this as often as possible.

Always collect when leaving the network

The golden rule in this game is to make sure that you always send your troops to collect resources when you go offline.

In the beginning, focus on directing your armies to gather food as that is what you need most, but keep an eye on the amount of resources and always collect more of what you need the most.

Stay online as long as possible

The game rewards you with all sorts of bonuses for simply logging into the game, and it doesn't hurt to plug in your charger and launch the game, collecting these rewards as they become available.

While the early rewards aren't that impressive, once you hit the 20 minute mark, they get a lot better and you'll get some really useful items just to keep the game going!

That will be it all in terms of Wild Frontier tips and tricks for you today. We'll be back with more in-depth articles covering various aspects of the game, but until then, feel free to share your tips or questions below.
