All Battlefield V Updates from EA Play 2019 - Maps, Weapons and More
EA Play's Battlefield V showcase featured several new maps, updates to Firestorm, and more details on the game's upcoming Chapter XNUMX.
E3 obviously didn't do it for EA this year, so the publisher decided to throw its own party and reveal a ton of upcoming content for some of its major titles like Battlefield V and Apex Legends.
Apex may have had more attention on EA Play, but there was a lot of new Battlefield V content and Chapter 5 teasers.
EA has revealed a host of new maps coming to Battlefield V this year.
What are the new cards?
The first new Battlefield map is called "Al Sudan" and is a vast open desert area perfect for massive armor battles.
Al Sudan, set in the North African theater of World War II, is based on the desert environment that will be used in the single-player war story "Under the Flag".
Al Sudan will provide players with enough space for mechanized combat.
Marita, the other new map shown, is a claustrophobic, infantry-focused map compared to the wide-open vistas of Al Sudan.
Following in the footsteps of the Mercury card, Marita continues the battle for Greece. The allied troops will start in the fortified city and the Axis players will attack.
"Marita is an infantry-focused map where all four soldier classes will be able to reveal themselves," EA said of the new map. "Tanks and planes will stand aside for intense infantry skirmishes and sneaky flanking attacks on the cobbled streets."
What else has been announced for Battlefield V?
Another new card, called Operation Underground, has also been teased and should be released in October. EA said this map will also be very infantry-focused, something fans of Battlefield 3's Operation Métro will appreciate.
Operation Underground promises players even more close combat.
Two more infantry cards close to the center go along with Chapter 4: Despite the Odds - Loften Islands and Provence. Dice has also released an official roadmap for when players can expect the update.

Starting in June, the Battleform Royale mode of Battlefield V will be updated regularly with new weapons, custom skins, squad respawns, improvements to the loot and matchmaking system, and a new landmark ominously called the Dome.
Finally, in Chapter 5, Battlefield players will travel to the Pacific Theater to take on Iwo Jima again in the fall of 2019.
