All Monsters and Enemies in Resident Evil Village (RE8 Bestiary)
Resident Evil Village features a variety of terrifying enemies, monsters, and boss fights in the longtime horror franchise, from the imposing Lady Dimitrescu to werewolf-inspired lycans.
After violent encounters with the Baker family and the molders in Resident Evil 7, Ethan Winters faces even more horror when he returns to Capcom's iconic Village survival franchise, set several years after the previous game.
The village has a very distinct gothic theme: the designers take inspiration from classic franchises like Dracula and The Addams Family, so naturally monsters like werewolves and vampires are par for the course – with a twist on Resident Evil, of course.
From the snow-covered village to the looming Dimitrescu Castle, here are all the enemies, monsters, and potential bosses (so far) you'll encounter as you make your way through the terrifying locations of Resident Evil Village.
CONTENTS
Main bosses
Angie and Beneviento
Heisenberg
This enigmatic character in his raincoat and dark glasses is definitely intriguing. Known as Heisenberg, he will try to capture Ethan right away and you will have to worry about more than just his huge hammer as he can also manipulate objects in the environment.
You'll definitely need to be careful when you're fighting this enemy in Resident Evil Village, as he's the leader of the Lycans and some horrifying human experiments, which means he'll also have an army of dangerous creatures under his control. .
Lady Dimitrescu
Long before Resident Evil Village was released, it was clear that Lady Dimitrescu would be the villain who would steal the show this time around. Known as the "tall female vampire," Lady Dimitrescu's incredible height and stern appearance have earned her a place in the meme hall of fame.
Capcom has confirmed that Lady Dimitrescu will relentlessly pursue players like Mister X and Nemesis from previous Resident Evil games. Whether you stay and fight or run and hide is up to you, but given the size of these claws, we recommend hiding unless you're prepared with some powerful weaponry.
Moreau
With the ability to mutate into a giant fish, Moro is one of the most humble lords of the village who surprises everyone. Spitting acid and enzymes that can trap people, Salvatore Moro is worth looking out for in one of the most intense boss fights in the entire game.
Mother Miranda
Capcom described her as "a presence worshiped by the villagers", but it was revealed that the mysterious Mother Miranda plays a much more important role in the Village's history. According to all four lords of the village, she is the puppeteer of the entire show, and she is also a mutant with destructive powers.
Mini bosses
Bela, Cassandra and Daniela
Lady Dimitrescu isn't the only witch you'll encounter in Resident Evil Village, as there are also three mutant sisters known as Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela. They are not as tall as the lady of the house, but they seem to be just as eager to torment Ethan on his journey.
Inspired by folklore and vampire literature, The Village compares Lady Dimitrescu's relationship with her three sisters to Count Dracula and his three "brides" from Bram Stoker's classic novel. They are loyal to their mother and will follow her orders.
Assault
A fearsome mutant modified with a chainsaw propeller, this boss fight will keep you on your toes as you try to avoid him instantly leveling you.
Baby
When it's time to run and escape from the clutches of the Kid in Donna Beneviento's house, you will have to do it unarmed. Quick thinking and lightning-fast reflexes should be in your repertoire when you dodge the Kid and try to escape the puppet shop in the basement of the house.
uriage
While players briefly encounter Uriage early in the game, you won't come face to face with this strong werewolf-like person until much later in the game. His hammer strikes and it will take all your wits to outlive this werewolf-chief-like figure.
Types of enemies
Thugs
The simplest enemies you will encounter in the Heisenberg Factory are the easiest to defeat. You will need to take care to remove the metal visor from their head before they can close the distance between you, allowing you to quickly mow them down with headshots.
Werewolves
Unlike previous Resident Evil games where zombies were the most common enemy, human-dog hybrids known as lycans, clearly inspired by werewolves, will be the main antagonist you'll encounter in the Village. One of them will even bite your fingers off!
You will likely hear these enemies before you see them as they hide in the wheat and snowy areas of the village and work together to destroy their prey. To make them even more intimidating, they crawl on all fours when crossing and then get back on their feet when they attack Ethan.
Moroaiki
Traveling in packs and dwelling deep within Castle Dimitrescu, the all-female Moroaica are clumsy but terrifying foes. Hiding in plain sight, you need to be careful not to be suddenly attacked by one of these ghouls.
Valnomii
These gargoyle-like enemies are similar to Moroaica but have been seen flying around the dark spiers of Dimitrescu Castle. With long protruding tongues capable of sucking blood and the ability to fly - along with their tendency to stick together - they will give Ethan a lot of trouble in his journey through Resident Evil Village.
Soldiers Ains, Zwei, Jet and Armored Soldier
After the clumsy, easily destroyed Haulers, Heisenberg's modified people have four more enemy class stages, each more difficult than the previous one.
They are heavily armored, with many having a bright red patch on their body meaning "shoot here" - often on the chest or back of each enemy type.
werewolf
While unavailable until you defeat Moro and retrieve the three flasks containing Rose's body, the Wolf Wolf will chase you into the fields you ventured through earlier to get to Louise's house.
You will need to keep your distance and use all of your mines to take him out by harassing him with a shotgun as he closes any distance between you.
