In most cases, each specific weapon will have the ability to equip up to four different types of attachments. These attachments range from:

sights
trunks
magazines
shares
opticians
hop-ups.

As you equip attachments on your weapon, you will find that they do more than just improve certain qualities of your weapon. But they also make it much more efficient to use. While every weapon is different, you'll find that attachments often improve:

accuracy
controllability
recoil
reload time
rate of fire
target drift

For the most part, attachments come in four different rarity levels:

Regular (grey)
Rare (blue)
Epic (Purple)
Legendary (Gold)

The higher the rarity, the better the affection.

Backpacks

Although backpacks are technically not attachments. They really are a major upgrade to your inventory. Since they allow you to carry even more items and equipment.
