Valorant Riot Games have announced plans to expand their flagship first-person shooter to new platforms starting with Valorant Mobile.
As Valorant continues to grow rapidly with a burgeoning competitive scene and an ever-growing roster of agents and maps, there is still plenty of room for you to expand.
To celebrate the game's anniversary, Riot announced its mobile version on June 2nd. However, as we approach the game's second anniversary, there have been few details about it.
Here's what we know about the upcoming release of Valorant Mobile.
Riot announced Valorant Mobile
As with their flagship mobile game, League of Legends, Riot announced plans to "expand the [Valorant] franchise" to make it available to "more players around the world".
Valorant is currently exclusive to Windows PC, so excluding console players, Mac users and mobile users. However, the mobile version should change this for the latter.
The Executive Producer of Valorant, said: “One of our main goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community and prove to them that Valorant will always uphold the foundations of a truly worthwhile competitive tactical shooter.
“Seeing our growing community of players recognize and appreciate what we are trying to do with Valorant is beyond what we could have expected, and we are very excited to bring the same competitive Valorant experience to even more players around the world soon.”
Like Yoru, Riot this year, the developers want to push the envelope.
Does Valorant Mobile have a release date?
Unfortunately, apart from confirming that it's on the way, Riot has yet to announce a release date for the mobile version of Valorant.
Bringing a shooter like this to mobile devices is an ambitious project, so players shouldn't expect a confirmed release date anytime soon.
Is there a Valorant mobile beta?
According to credible data collector ValorLeaks, in a series of tweets on Feb. 10, the Valorant Mobile beta is just around the corner.
A well-known leaker noted that the beta seems to be using an invite system. They said, "At this point, it appears that players will be using the invite system to invite friends to access the beta."
However, there are currently no beta invitations, and the insider added that the beta will likely take place in a few months.
