Dailymail has shared the first photos from the filming of the upcoming film The Little Mermaid, based on the 1989 cartoon of the same name. The role of Ariel is played by Halle Bailey from the musical duo Chloe x Halle.
Filming is taking place in Italy. In the photo, Holly Bailey in the image of the Little Mermaid is sitting on the beach. Next to her is actor Jonah Hauer-King, who plays the role of Prince Eric.
The film also stars Javier Bardem as King Triton. Melissa McCarthy will play the wicked witch Ursula.
