Genshin Impact 1.6 Leaks: Skif (Yalik), Inazuma Islands First Look and Boat Challenge Points
The Genshin Impact 1.6 leaks have introduced some juicy new screenshots regarding the Inazuma Islands.
Genshin Impact leaks have been infamous for their accuracy in the past. With a bunch of photos and videos of information, it's hard to argue that these pieces of content are fake. Of course, some of them can be updated or changed to make them more interesting. However, these Genshin Impact leaks still provide some interesting insights into what's happening in the 1.6 update.
Genshin Impact 1.6 Leaks: Skif Waypoint, First Look at Inazuma Islands, and Boat Travel Features
The first thing some players notice in these photos is the presence of the EULA and another character. The Anemo character is a new five-star unit known as Kazuha, which will most likely be released in update 1.6. Lucky for fans aeolians, it will be released in 1.5.
The next thing fans might notice is the view. The islands seem small, almost like in The Legend of Zelda. Interestingly, Genshin Impact is known for having a lot in common with the recent main legend of the Zelda title, Breath of the Wild.
In the case of Breath of the Wild, gamers had to travel from island to island by boat. Several Genshin Impact 1.6 leaks indicate that the protagonist will be able to travel from island to island in a similar fashion. It's not yet known how players can control boats (or skiffs, for that matter), but it's possible that Genshin Impact will introduce a new feature that will make more sense later.
Waypoint Skif
A new waypoint type will be introduced due to new features found in the 1.6 update. It is not yet known how the Skif waypoint will differ from other teleports. In comparison, a Portable Waypoint is essentially a portable Teleport Waypoint, except that it only lasts seven days. Likewise, a Teleport Waypoint is a permanent waypoint for that location.
This new waypoint will likely allow Genshin Impact players to summon a boat. Since travel throughout Inazuma will rely heavily on boats (given most players don't have the stamina to swim long distances), this seems like the most likely scenario.
As shown above, the new icon is almost perfect for the Skif waypoint design. Players can see a regular Teleport Obelisk nearby, so it's unlikely that the Skiff waypoint's purpose will be to teleport players to its location. No other place in Genshin Impact would have three teleporters that are close together.
Both Scythian waypoints are located in a body of water, so it is highly likely that this will be due to the possibility of Scythian (Yalikov) spawning.
What is Yalik or Scythian?
Skiffs are small boats used for recreation or fishing. Given the open space found on the map, the skiff is ideal for moving to and from specific locations in Inazuma.
If there are more cluttered islands elsewhere in Inazuma, then the small form of the skiff is perfect for moving around the map compared to a large vessel like the Bei Dou ship.

As seen above, there seems to be quite a distance between the islands, hence the need for a skiff.
These islands do seem barren at the moment, but there's always more content to add when the Genshin Impact 1.6 update is ready. It's possible that some major content might force the player to travel to these islands for one reason or another.
What can be said is that these islands will most likely have beautiful views that the player will be able to see in Genshin Impact.
