Fortnite Leaks Reveal NBA Crossover

New Fortnite leaks point to a crossover with the NBA in Chapter 6 Season 2, with various new challenges and player rewards sure to thrill any basketball fan.

Epic Games has added soccer players as NPCs to Battle Royale and now appears to be focusing on basketball as new leaks point to an upcoming NBA crossover event .

The March 30th Fortnite update brought football players to the island as part of the Neymar Jr. Challenges that you can complete by unlocking popular player as a skin . Developers can now turn their attention to another sport.

New leaks have surfaced that suggest Epic Games is planning to partner with the NBA to host a battle royale basketball event. Here's everything we know about it so far.

This information came from a famous Fortnite insider. Shook , who posted details about the event on the FortniteLeaks subreddit. According to him, the event will start at 8:00 AM ET May 12, 2021 .

After the release of Tag Team Battles, you can support one of thirty NBA teams by completing various daily tasks. These tasks include eliminations, each of which earns you points for your chosen team.

Top players will receive the following rewards:

  • 1-place : 500 V-Bucks + NBA Championship Back Decoration
  • 2 place : 300 V-bucks
  • 3 place : 100 V-bucks

Even if you don't place first in a Fortnite NBA event, you'll be able to purchase the NBA Championship Back Ornament from the Item Shop when it becomes available there in the future. Completing three daily quests will give you the Grand Champion graffiti.

There was also a Fortnite NBA event reward leak. "Prior to this, the 'Hookshot' toy was leaked," Shook wrote. "It can no longer be found on the website, so it can be obtained or earned in some other way."

We currently don't know if any NBA-themed skins will appear at the Fortnite NBA event because they weren't shown in the promotional image. This would be a missed opportunity as players might enjoy playing as LeBron James and other stars.

Keep in mind that these are leaks and Epic Games hasn't announced anything official about the Fortnite NBA event yet. We will continue to check for updates and will let you know as soon as we know something new.
