Valve's True Sight: 2019 Finals Documentary Hits 1 Million Viewers on Day One
Premiere of the movie Valve True Sight. International documentary about Dota 2 in 2019 was a mix of live action and Q&A with the two teams taking center stage throughout the project.
And while the numbers for the premiere did rise from the TI8 documentary, the true recognition came when the video became available on YouTube, as the combination of Twitch, SteamTV and YouTube viewers pushed the film to over 1 million viewers within its first day.
Since the premiere, fans have been able to watch the first screenings of the film live via chat along with the OG panel and Nigma Q&A on Twitch or SteamTV. It didn't help divide viewers, as Twitch had a peak of 111 people watching the documentary, but there was a surprising amount of people watching via SteamTV, with 061 viewers tuning in via the launcher.
According to Esports Charts , the premiere audience was 154, nearly 967 more than True Sight TI8 co 127 (936 on Twitch and 93 on SteamTV).
But the real numbers appeared immediately after the end of the broadcast, when the film aired on the official channel Dota 2 on YouTube. This channel alone has about 730 subscribers, and within the first few hours of the video's release, it was viewed by 000 people.
This number continued to rise throughout the day as fans watched the video again and new viewers got to enjoy it for the first time. Only the premiere and one video easily surpassed 1 million views on the first day.
To date, the official video has over 2 million views, and the Twitch video, which includes Q&A and interviews with OG and Nigma, has another 59. And that doesn't include clips of the best Q&A and announcements announcing that that Syed "SumaiL" joined Hasan and each of them has thousands of views too.

Overall, the True Sight iteration at TI9 was a huge success, despite the formula being tweaked slightly to focus on a couple of teams and one particular series rather than one journey through the biggest tournament in Dota The directors also teased that a "Blooper" trailer could be released in the coming months, so fans can look forward to more content.
