TGS Death Stranding trailer reveals new character voiced by Troy Baker
Last show showed off a new trailer for Death Stranding, a mysterious project from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima that reveals a new character voiced and played by Troy Baker.
Baker, who worked with Kojima on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, also appears in Death Stranding as a mysterious antagonist who creates a supernatural obstacle for Sam Bridges. Torya's character removes the golden skull mask from his head and plunges it into the ground, summoning a mammoth-like otherworldly creature formed by eerie black tentacle limbs. Having summoned the monster, the skull itself disappears, leaving the entity face to face with the main character.
In typical Kojima Productions style, the cutscene leaves more questions than answers, what it all means and how it fits into the game is unclear. But instead of explaining, Hideo raises additional questions that we desperately want answers to. Unfortunately, we're not sure when we'll get them, as Death Stranding doesn't have a release date yet.
Death Skanding began development in 2015, shortly after Kojima parted ways with Konami. The game debuted during Sony's E3 2016 press conference, and while various trailers have been released since then, very little is known about it. In addition to Baker, Death Stranding includes many other notable actors, including Normand Reid, The Walking Dead, Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen, Lee Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner.
