Due to the huge hype surrounding E3, many of the trailers intended for the event inevitably surface earlier. This is exactly the scenario that happened with the new Life is Strange Remastered Collection trailer, which was leaked two days before Square Enix's reveal.
This trailer is likely to coincide with other news about Life is Strange: True Colors, the third game in the series, which was recently announced.
No wonder that Life is Strange Remastered Collection updates the visuals of the original episode, albeit only slightly. The now-deleted trailer includes a side-by-side comparison of the visuals of the original game and the remaster, with the differences mostly being improved lighting and image quality. The remaster also promises improved animation and motion capture for the characters, which could address some of the animation-related criticisms that were made in the original release. Some of the game's puzzles will also be tweaked, although the meaning of these gameplay changes remains to be seen.
Emotional rollercoaster
After the first release Life is Strange received mostly positive reviews from the gaming press. Many critics praised her willingness to tackle serious themes rarely seen in games, and generally praised the character development and strong emotional beats. That being said, the game has also received a fair amount of criticism. Particular controversy involved the inclusion of outdated slang in the script, as well as the aforementioned animation issues such as lip-syncing.
Now, when trailer Life is Strange Remastered Collection leaked online in advance, fans have a better idea of what the final product will entail. Players can purchase the remaster separately or bundled with Life is Strange: True Colors. The trailer lists a September 30 release date, so players won't have to wait long to see if the remaster lives up to the original release.
