The Great C, based on the sci-fi story of Philip Dick, is coming to VR in the form of cinematic storytelling. This title was recently screened at the Venice Film Festival.
Set during yet another apocalypse, this 30-minute VR experience features a gripping storyline, stunning environments and a powerful soundtrack, and takes the viewer to a desert world where the remnants of humanity are controlled by an all-powerful supercomputer known as Great C. A nearby village is forced to dispatch a chosen youth every year on a one-way pilgrimage to appease the mysterious Great S.
The story follows Claire, a young woman who loses her temper when her fiancé is called in for this year's sacrifice. She will have to decide whether to accept the rules of her harsh society or fight against the oppressive force that created it.
The Great C will be released on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on October 9th. Although the experience is also being developed for Playstation VR, it will only be available for the platform in 2019.
