Live Streamer Rescued a Passer-by from a Robber
The YouTuber received a commendation for saving a guy from an act of robbery during a live broadcast when he screamed and scared the intruder before calling the police.
Live streamers on Twitch and YouTube face some degree of spontaneity during their live blogging antics, with few subscribers expecting arbitrariness to be part of their daily routine. But an emergency occurred when YouTuber Sherwin was walking around London.
Moving through a normally busy area, Sherwin notices some commotion in the distance and quickly makes his way to the scene. With a camera showing Sherwin's face and a second one showing his POV (point of view), YouTube chat got a front row seat for what ended up being an act of casual onlooker heroism.
In a one-minute video posted on Twitter, the incident was shared more widely online. The video shows Sherwin covering for a bloody, fallen victim and swatting his attacker several times before bringing in a group of helpful strangers.
Hitting the victim several more times, the attacker ran away, after which the streamer called the police. Other people rushed to the scene, trying to help the victim. The footage shows that the cyclist's face was covered in blood.
The audience appreciated the streamer's bold act and noted that "the world needs more people like Sherwin." Some felt that if he had not helped the passerby, the robber might have killed him.

Sherwin's actions come at a time when social media is rightly on fire with the #StopAsianHate movement, a direct response to the rise in hate crimes against Asians in the past year. Protecting anyone from harm and robbery is commendable at any time, but got extra attention for rescuing an Asian guy at a time when light is being shed on injustice against them.
