Sony announces PlayStation Classic mini-console with 20 games

Sony has announced its own mini classic console. The company today announced the PlayStation Classic, a mini version of the original PlayStation. It will ship with 20 generation-defining games, including Final Fantasy VII and Wild Arms, and will arrive later this year.
Sales of the PlayStation Classic will start on December 3, and this is a significant date. This is the day the original PlayStation launched in 1994.
The mini version is 45 percent smaller than the original PlayStation, and as you can see in the video, it mirrors the look of the system, including its controllers.
It comes with an HDMI cable, a USB cable to power it (optional AC adapter sold separately), and two controllers. The cost of the system is $100.

Unsurprisingly, Sony falls into the "classic" category of mini retro plug-and-play consoles. Nintendo currently dominates the market, and overall sales of plug-and-play consoles are up 400 percent a year to date in Russia and the US.
