SHOCK! Did you know there are two LGBT heroes in Apex Legends?

  The official EA bio page for Legends makes special mention of Gibraltar's sexuality, one of the eight characters you can play as. In fact, the entire Apex Legends roster is an extraordinarily diverse group. Along with the two aforementioned Legends, the characters are three women, two of whom are black. With most games featuring white male heroes, Respawn has definitely chosen to change course in this regard. Of course, others have also made headway in recent months when it comes to bringing out LGBT characters. In January, Blizzard announced through a comic that the hero of Overwatch Soldier 76 is gay. With the lack of hype surrounding these two phenomena, in particular at launch, it could be a sign that positive representation of LGBT people (and lack of abuse) could become the new normal in combat, gaming, and the world beyond.
