Fortnite Save The World Co-Op Mode Early Access Will Be Paid
You can save the world next year.
Fortnite found wild popularity thanks to the Battle-Royale mode available for the game. The original Save the World mode will also eventually make its way to the free version. However, those plans have been pushed out since 2018 as developer Epic Games says it needs to move forward on some redesigns and additional features before it powers the Switch.
The availability of the Save the World Epic mode suggests that Fortnite's popularity will solidify as a large influx of new users is expected.
If you just can't wait until it's free to play, Epic will be offering 50% off the Standard, Deluxe, Standard Deluxe, and Limited Base Pack starting this week. This means your cheapest option will cost $20 until it goes free. Residents will also receive Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez for free if they log in during the Halloween celebration.
The update also details a big change to the Hero system to give you more flexibility when downloading, as well as several interface improvements.
Co-op PvE Save the World was an original move for Fortnite and has remained in development as the popular PvP Battle Royale gained popularity. To be fair, the free version of the game has eclipsed its original vision, especially since PvE is not available for some versions, including Nintendo Switch or mobile games. At least some of the gamers, from a huge audience, will likely jump into Save the World as soon as it goes free, which is why Epic wants to be ready.
