AMD Processor Performance Boosts With V-Cache Technology
AMD at the Computex 2021 event announced a new processor layout that will significantly increase the performance of the chips. We are talking about 3D V-Cache.
This arrangement will allow you to increase the amount of DRAM memory literally in the processor itself. Thus, it is possible to increase the size of the cache memory of the third level, which has a beneficial effect on gaming performance.
The company showed a variant of the Ryzen 9 5900X with Zen 3 cores and an additional DRAM stack, so that the L3 cache reached 192 MB. In gaming tasks, this arrangement allows you to increase performance by an average of 15%. Moreover, such processors do not require software changes.
As reported, the first solutions with V-Cache technology will be put into production before the end of the year. But their release date has yet to be announced.
