Complete Guide to World War Z. Game Guide.

World War Z

The next guide to World War Z is a complete collection of knowledge containing a description of all elements of the gameplay. The guide starts with tips for getting started, as well as a description of the main mechanics of the gameplay, where you can find the most necessary information when starting the adventure. Here you can find chapters describing, among other things, combat mechanics, detailed information about each class available in the game, along with tips for developing them, as well as the characteristics of available equipment and how to improve it further.

The guide also includes an extensive FAQ section, where everyone will find answers to the most difficult questions and solutions to problems that await both beginners and more experienced players. Here you can find information about how to unlock new character abilities, the list and how to get the most effective weapons in the game, how to deal with special enemies, and how to improve game performance. There are also tips about the game itself - how to deal with the undead, how to navigate the game, and tips that are not related to the gameplay itself. The Applications section, where you can find chapters on controls and system requirements, closes the guide.

World War Z is a TPP shooter game based on the license of the film of the same name. The game takes place in a world controlled by a zombie pandemic, and players fight for survival in the territories of New York, Jerusalem or Moscow. The game was designed with a focus on four-player interaction - close cooperation between players becomes especially important at higher difficulty levels. The action is displayed from a third point of view (TPP) and players are given control of one of the available characters and character classes, and the choice has a significant impact on the gameplay. The game was developed by Saber Interactive, a company known for FPS Timeshift, as well as God Mode, another title dedicated to player collaboration. The game was released on PC, PS4 and XONE.

Tips for a good start

Before you start your adventure with World War Z, we recommend that you read the tips below. They will greatly facilitate the entry into the game and will be useful for both new players and more experienced ones.

This box allows players to replenish ammo. - World War Z Guide

This crate allows players to replenish ammo.

Tips:

  1. Don't forget to replenish ammo whenever you have the opportunity. While playing World War Z, your team will be taking out thousands of enemies and you can quickly run out of ammo for any of your weapons. You can use melee in a critical situation, but you shouldn't rely on it too much if you don't want to take unnecessary damage. Ammo can be replenished with special crates - they are always found near key locations (where you need to defend against a swarm of zombies), you can also stumble upon them while exploring the map.

  2. Control your environment. The mini-map is always available in the game - on it you will find the places where the enemies are coming from (marked with a red field), as well as information about the locations of your allies (blue dots on the mini-map).

There are numerous item caches scattered in the game. - World War Z Guide

There are many items scattered throughout the game.

  1. Look for new equipment. During missions, you will often stumble upon item chests - inside you can find explosives, a first aid kit, or new weapons. New weapons can also be found lying in the open. It is worth keeping an eye on new equipment and changing it if necessary.

It is always worth to eliminate enemies quietly, with a silenced weapon. - World War Z Guide

It is always worth taking out enemies calmly, with silenced weapons.

  1. If possible, destroy enemies calmly. Enemies will almost completely ignore silenced weapons (like the Pistol available to most classes at the start of missions), and most of them will drop with a single headshot. Firing with "regular" weapons causes a lot of noise, attracting unwanted attention from all nearby enemies - it can even cause a Swarm to appear.

  2. Shoot accurately, in short bursts. Even though it may seem that there is an excess of ammunition on the map, the real problems arise at higher difficulty levels. Short, accurate bursts and focusing on your opponents' heads will allow you to quickly eliminate your enemies and save a lot of precious ammo. If you run out of ammo and don't have a resupply box, further pallet encounters will be difficult.

Explosives can also be replenished. - World War Z Guide

Explosives can also be replenished.

  1. Save explosives for encounters with large groups of enemies. Explosives are useful both in narrow passages (corridors, building interiors) to quickly destroy large groups of enemies without the need to use ammunition, and when facing Swarm - a huge group of zombies that can turn into thousands that appear at key moments of missions (for example, when the team must defend a certain point on the map). Using grenades, C4 or Molotov on individual enemies is a waste of time

  2. Play as a team. The direct cooperation of teammates in World War Z is critical, especially at higher difficulty levels. Moving on your own will quickly drain you of ammo and you will most likely either run into a huge group of normal zombies or get caught by a special enemy (bull or creeper) - in the latter case, help from a teammate will be crucial, as you won't will be able to escape from the clutches of the enemy on their own. Move in a group to be able to quickly destroy enemies.

If your ally is heavily wounded, consider healing him/her with a medkit. - World War Z Guide

If your ally is badly injured, consider healing them with a first aid kit.

  1. Heal and save incapacitated allies. Once an ally's health points drop to 0, his/her character will be knocked down. Other teammates will be able to approach the fallen person and "revive" him/her. The time to revive an ally is limited, as well as the number of times it can be done before the character dies permanently - it decreases as the difficulty level increases (in Instane, the character dies after one knockdown).

Special enemies - in this case the Bull - differ severely from typical zombies. - World War Z Guide

Special enemies - in this case the Bull - are very different from typical zombies.

  1. Beware of special enemies. There are several types of these opponents - Reaper, Ox, Screamer and Hazmat. Each of them is characterized by different behavior and abilities, each needs to be handled differently. Their detailed description can be found in a separate chapter of this manual.

  2. Test all classes available in the game. There are several classes available in the game, each of which is different from the other - you will find classes aimed at dealing damage, as well as those that exist to support others. A detailed description of all available classes can be found in a separate section of this manual.

  3. Choose your class depending on the needs of the team. World War Z is a game that requires the close cooperation of all party members, which is also evident in the character classes. If the team lacks a damage dealing class, don't pick a medic/assistant, and if the rest of the team is focused on dealing damage, you should consider choosing a support class. This can seriously affect the chances of successfully completing the mission.

  4. Upgrade your weapon. Every weapon in the game can be upgraded. This is done simply by using a special firearm - killing enemies gives him experience points. As soon as the level of the weapon increases, you can choose a modification for the firearm - to increase accuracy, controllability, the number of bullets in the magazine, or the damage dealt.

World War Z

  • genre: Action
  • developer: Saber Interactive
  • publisher: Focus Home Interactive
  • platforms: PC, PS4, XONE

A co-op shooter game based on the license of the film of the same name. Players enter a world overrun by a zombie pandemic and fight for survival in Moscow, New York and Jerusalem. World War Z is a four-player cooperative shooter based on the license of the film of the same name. The game was developed by Saber Interactive, also known for making games like TimeShift, Inversion, and God Mode. World War Z takes players to a world overrun by a zombie pandemic. Players control characters whose main task is to fight for survival. There are indirect references to the movie in the game, however, you don't need to see the move to understand the plot shown in the game.

In World War Z, players watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game consists of three main chapters taking place in New York, Moscow and Jerusalem. In each location, players control 4 characters with different abilities. As the game progresses, players gain experience and unlock new levels that give them new abilities. As in the Left 4 Dead series, players have to go through different locations, complete tasks and destroy hordes of the undead. One horde can even consist of hundreds of zombies, moving at extraordinary speed and able to climb on top of each other, reaching seemingly safe, high places. The developers provide players with a complex selection of firearms (which can be modified). Players can also fortify themselves - in certain areas, you can build a barbed fence, deploy mines and HMG positions. World War Z is based on the patented Swarm Engine, which delivers high quality visuals despite the hundreds of enemies on screen.
