Burdened with the duties of the Tower, Cayde-6 arms and advises Hunters who seek him. ― In-game description.

Cayde-6 (orig. Cayde-6) - The former Vanguard of Hunters, formerly located in the Tower. Cade sold various Hunter armor (including Vanguard armor) and emblems. In Destiny 2, Cayde-6 sold Scout Reports and maps from chests that were scattered throughout the system and left over from his early travels. During the Forsaken storyline, he was killed by Uldren Sov in the Prison of the Elders.

Biography

Career start as a Guardian

“Kade is a cunning hunter with years of experience surviving outside the walls of the Last City. But, um, warfare is not his forte. I'm not sure the "shoot to death" strategy will suffice."― Ghost

Like most Exos, Cade occasionally reminisces about his past before the Collapse. However, unlike most, he remembers enough to provide significant facts, although he admits that the chronology of events is broken. Cade was a human soldier with a large financial debt, and then he was approached by the Clovis Bray Corporation with an offer to cover the debt. Cade accepted the offer. The former soldier does not remember the job offer itself, but he remembers his arrival in Europe, where he was transformed into an exo. Cade's letter fragments in Destiny 2 reveal that Cade had a wife and a son, whom he names "Dame" and "Ace" respectively. Cade gave up his former life and retired from gambling; his only means of escape was to sell himself to a corporation under the Exo program. He then remembers that he was assigned as a security officer in the Ishtar Collective, where his job was to look after Dr. Maya Sundaresh. Although he wanted to get to know her better, she barely noticed him. Afterwards, he remembers being held back by a dark entity in a shattered world, and then another memory follows, which he describes as alien. He was resurrected by a ghost named Sundance, in his hands he held a diary in which Ace's name was written, and Cade continued to write letters to his son, despite the fact that he did not remember him, and most likely he had already died long ago. He later admitted that he was not sure if his wife and son actually existed.

Cade and the Fallen Baroness fight the Hive

One day, while searching for the Hive Sanctuary on the Moon, Cade discovered the Hive facility and entered it. Inside, he encountered a large swarm of slaves, knights, and sorcerers and decided to retreat. The opponents chased the exo to the surface, and he managed to cut down many before he ran out of ammo for the machine gun. While taking cover behind a crashed interplanetary ship and reloading his weapon, Cade spotted a Fallen Baroness from the House of Exiles who was also fighting the Hive. The knights pushed them both back to a rise with a stone depression in the shadow of the old interferometer tower.

Fighting together, they killed most of the Hive, at the end of the battle, sorcerers appeared, Cade climbed onto the tower for a better view and saw how the fallen retreated to the base with antennas, where she broke her blades on the knight, but killed him. The last sorcerer and a line of slaves were approaching Cade. He looked at the fallen one and thought how many innocent lives she had taken. The Baroness then threw a stun gun between them as if offering the Exo, but when he approached and bent down for the weapon, she attempted to stab Cade. Exo dodged her easily, breaking her arms and slitting her throat. Cade wondered if the Baroness really wanted to kill him, or if she did it to make it easier for him to choose to end her. Cade used a stun gun to kill the remaining Hive.

Cade attended the funeral of Warlock Albios, which was held on Io. Although he liked Albios, Cade quickly grew bored with the event and made a bet with Banshee 44 that he could make some risky jumps on the nearby plateaus. He won the bet, although he broke both legs in jumping. Cade hid his winnings in one of his caches on the plateau.

Cayde-6 was a brave and adventurous Guardian, so he could not refuse the challenge - the Vanguard wager, which he made with his predecessor and close friend - Andal Brask. Unfortunately, he lost. The stake was on who could be the first to kill the fallen mercenary - Tanix, Scar. Cade became the Hunter Vanguard after Andal was killed by Thanix. Although Cade fulfills his duties as a Vanguard, he longs to return to the battlefield, in particular, his gaze is fixed on the Crystal Hall.

Rise of Darkness

Cayde as Hunter Vanguard

"I sense a pattern here - a connection between this Vex outbreak, the Black Garden, and the Crystal Hall... I need to know more." ― Cayde-6

Cade welcomed the Sentinel Tower, which had recently respawned at the Cosmodrome in Old Russia, provided him with brilliance, basic resources, and advice, before offering to obtain new weapons from Banshee-44, though he was amazed that he was able to escape the Cosmodrome armed with a machine gun. Khvostov 7G-02. When he learned that this new Guardian had discovered the Hive at the Cosmodrome, Cade decided that the best solution would be to attack the Hive at a stronghold on the Moon. He realized that many of the newcomers who went to the moon never returned, but quickly assured the Guardian that he would be up to the task.

During a conversation with Lord Shaxx, Cayde-6 disputed his claim that Titan Vanguard Saint-14 was dead. Cade praised the legendary titan's ability to quickly dispatch cells, but noted that Saint was strange. Shax retorted, stating that eccentricity was his forte, to which Cade pointed out that Saint claimed to see the future and fight on the Six Fronts in the name of the coming of some Guardian Savior. Cayde began to laugh at the idea that only one Guardian could solve all their problems. Then Shax left Cade with the words that he came across a rookie Guardian from Old Russia, who is going to the Crucible for the first time, and Cade joked that this rookie could be the very savior and suggested calling him "Death of Crota".

Cade later learned that the Guardian had ventured to the Ishtar Collective on Venus and gathered information on the Vex Gatelord. It was part of a deal with the Awoken on the Reef to get into the Black Garden. Cade confided to the Guardian that he and the Vanguard were worried about the Vex, but the information the Guardian gathered gave the Exo hope that they could prevail. He also warned the Guardian about dealing with the Awakened, noting that Queen Mara Sov is always collecting debts.

When the Fallen from the House of Winter broke into the Prison of Elders in the Reef, Cade learned that they were trying to free Axor, Archon Priest. He was concerned about what Axor might do if he was freed from his imprisonment and rebuilt with aether. Cade ordered the Warden to lead a fireteam and go to prison to kill the archon, with Mara Sov placing a large bounty on his head. Once the fireteam reached their destination, Cade contacted the Guardian and expressed concern that the Fallen might free more prisoners in the Prison of Elders. However, he put this mission aside, declaring that the time had come to celebrate the death of another archon.

Upon learning that the Guardian had infiltrated the Cabal's forbidden zone and entered the Blind Legion's military base, Cade congratulated them and planned to tell everyone about the mission, knowing that no one would believe him, which would win him a lot of bets. He also told the Guardian that he bet a thousand glitter on his death in the Black Garden, and assured that this was nothing personal. Before the Guardian entered the Black Garden, he destroyed the Vex Gate in the tunnels beneath Freehold. Cade was intrigued by the mission report, believing there was a connection between the Vex invasion on Mars, the Black Garden, and the Crystal Hall. Cade lost the Thousand Glitter when the Guardian managed to destroy the Black Heart in the garden and survived. Together with Zavala, Ikora, Cade and other Guardians, they gathered in the Tower Square to hear the Herald's speech in honor of the victory over Darkness. Cade later overheard Zavala and Ikora discussing the Vex known as the Immortal Mind. This mind tried to restore the Black Heart and seal the Black Garden into the void that hid it before. Cade asked if Ikora's Hidden People were the source of this information, but Zavala said it was a message from Osiris. Exo wondered what "immortal" meant to Vex minds. Zavala decided that they needed to find out and organized a raid to destroy the mind.

War of the Possessed

Cayde steals Eris' ship to install a stealth drive

Cayde-6 plays a very important role in The Taken King, assisting the Guardian in his plan to infiltrate the Dreadnought. He worked behind Zavala and Ikora's back to help the Guardian retrieve the stealth drive he stole from Rasputin and then sneak aboard the Dreadnought using a ship he "borrowed" from Eris Morn. Until the end of the war, he worked with Eris, and despite their mutual dislike, they had to work together in order to defeat Oryx. By the next Festival of the Lost, Eris was still angry at Cade for losing her ship, but Cade tried to make amends. However, Eris did not want to accept his apology until Cade found her a new ship.

Age of Triumphs

During the Dawn Festival, Cayde "voluntarily" offered his help and support to Ikora Rey and the Guardian in the fight against old foes who had returned - Omnigul and Sekrion, the Mind of Communication. Ikora understood that Cade was only befriending the Guardians so that he wouldn't lead a battle group of hunters who didn't like him. Regardless, he congratulates the Guardians on successfully completing their mission.

Some time later, Cade made a bet with Lord Shaxx regarding a match at the Crucible. After winning, he forced Shaxx to teach a couple of kids from the City how to play dodgeball. Shaxx didn't want to waste time with the kids and tried to pay double the amount with glitter. When Cade returned to Shaxx to say that his debt had been paid, Shaxx promptly demanded a new wager. Confident in his victory, the exo let his guard down and missed a sneak attack from one of the kids, the ball hit Cayde in the neck. Embarrassed at being taken by surprise, Cade changed the subject and offered Shaxx a ride back to the Tower.

Fall of the Last City

“Zavala is heroic in the Square. I? A date with the one who started this. ― Cayde-6

As the rest of the City prepared to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Six Fronts, Cade arrived at the Hall of Guardians to meet with Zavala and Ikora and wonder if his challenge was a joke. Zavala forced the exo to be serious. Ikora reported damage to the air defense system, Cade reported that the communication was not working and all the sensors behind the wall were cut off. Ikora then saw that the satellites of the Last City were no more, and at that moment, a huge fleet of Cabal appeared from the thunderclouds, which launched dozens of missiles at the Tower. Cayde activated the Golden Pistol to shoot down several missiles, but Ikora teleported him to Zavala under the Dome of Dawn's Protection, after which the wreckage of the Tower collapsed on the Guardians.

After surviving the Red Legion's attack, Cade began fighting the legionaries throughout the Tower. He met the Young Wolf when he activated the Golden Gun to kill the three Cabals. Exo informed the Guardian that Zavala was gathering the Guardians at the Plaza, but Cade himself had no plans to join them, as he planned to single-handedly find the Cabal commander and kill him. He then escaped through a hole in the ceiling and teleported to his ship. Later, during the battle, Zavala contacted Cade for a status update on the situation. Exo informed the Titan that he was running out of ammo and asked if there was anything from Ikora. Zavala told him that she went after the Herald and hasn't been in touch since.

Cayde fought alongside Lord Shaxx in an unknown part of the city while the Cabal activated the Wanderer's cage. Despite the loss of the Light, Cade remained in the city and continued to fight the Cabal, oblivious to the occupation of the city. Eager to kill Ghaul and realizing that Zavala and Ikora would not be able to take action against the Cabal, Cade accessed the automatic voice guidance system and requested advice on killing the "huge space rhinoceros". The help system suggested a Vex technology option, and Cayde traveled to Nessus in search of a Vex teleporter.

Trapped on Nessus

Cade eventually left Earth and crash-landed on Nessus, where he met a Golden Age AI called Neuromatrix and found a Vex teleporter. Despite the Neuromatrix's warning, Cayde activated the device, causing him to fall into an endless loop of teleports.

The Guardian traveled to Nessus in search of Cayde-6 to reunite the Vanguard on Zavala's orders. The Young Wolf found Cayde in a closed, unbroken teleportation loop caused by the Vex teleporter. Working together with the Neuromatrix, they freed the exo from the trap, and he ended up on the Black Exodus. There, the Guardian met with Cade and returned him the Vex device he was looking for. At first, Cade was only interested in sneaking into the City and killing Ghaul alone, but changed his mind after hearing that Zavala "needed" him, which flattered him. Before the Guardian left, Cade gave a hint on where to look for Ikora; he told her to go to Io, because that's where she goes when she's in doubt.

City Liberation

Meeting with his comrades at the Farm on Earth, Cade, along with the rest of the Vanguard, discussed a strategy to free the Last City and destroy the All Might, who could destroy the Sun if left unchecked. Zavala planned for the Guardian to go to All Might and incapacitate him, while the Vanguard would begin sneaking into the City, as with Cayde's teleport they would be able to teleport to the Traveler's cage and free him. Sooraya Hawthorne provided stealth infiltration into the City and came up with a plan to get the Guard on the Almighty. The Guardian was to steal the ship of Thumos, the Unbroken. Cade and Zavala were coordinating the Guardian during the mission, and Cade was a little jealous that the Guardian was provided with a Drake Tank. The Guardian managed to breach the Cabal's defenses and kill Tumos. On the ship of the Cabal, the Young Wolf reached the All Might and disabled his engines.

Since the incapacitation of All Might, the Vanguard began to operate in the city. Cade used the Colonel's chicken as a distraction for the Cabal, and then they breached the security at the checkpoint to set up a teleporter. Cade ran into a problem while setting up the device. When the Guardian returned to the City and rushed to the Vanguard position, Cayde had already successfully set up the teleporter, apart from the fact that he lost his arm. The young Wolf teleported to Ghaul's command ship and engaged in battle with Ghaul. The Guardian defeated the dictator of the Cabal, and in the chaos, the Wanderer awakened and destroyed Dominus Ghaul. In a powerful burst of Light energy, the Guardians regained their powers and drove the Red Legion from the City. The vanguard regrouped near the ruins of the old Tower. Congratulating the Guardian, Cade and his comrades began their work of rebuilding the City and began to prepare for other threats that remained in the solar system.

New golden age

Settling in a new hangar, Cade began to provide the Guardians with patrol missions and maps of their caches. Over time, Cade got more and more bored with paperwork. He often tried to shift his tasks to Hawthorne and Devrim Kay, which annoyed them.

Shortly after the liberation of the Last City, the Meeting of Concord 3230.01 was convened to restore control of the city. The representative of the New Monarchy, Executor Hideo, protested that only the Speaker could call meetings, Cade tried to use this as an excuse to leave the meeting, but Ikora stopped him. The remaining members of the Accord agreed that until a new Speaker was chosen, they would work together to manage the City.

Cade soon received word from his scouts on Nessus that a new non-Red Legion Cabal commander had arrived, running the Legion around Nessus like errand boys. Worried about yet another potential Cabal threat, Cade sent the Young Wolf to Nessus to find out what the Red Legion was doing at the behest of this new commander. They discovered that the Red Legion 7th Company was extracting plans from the Vex Confluxes for information on the planetary composition of Nessus, and intercepted a message saying that their invitation to join the loyalist regime was being rescinded, but other Red Legion units still had a chance. show yourself and join a life of luxury. Cade was intrigued by this message and was pleased with the Cabal's plans being thwarted. When the Young Wolf collected the latest data that the Cabal was trying to steal, they passed it on to Cade, along with another intercepted message that said the messages were sent by Emperor Calus. Cayde stopped joking about the incident at the mention of Calus and quickly thanked the Guardian and his Ghost for a great job before rushing off to find Ikora and inform her of the Cabal Emperor's involvement in the events on Nessus.

At a later meeting of the Accord, Ariadne Gris was called to answer questions about why her sparrow, Dinas Emrys, had a dragon on it, as some suspected it was a token of Ahamkara's praise. Cade advised Ariadne to be nice to Hideo after a representative from the New Monarchy got mad at her sarcastic response that she thought dragons were cool and had nothing to do with the Ahamkara. Cade was amused when Ikora interjected that Ariadne obviously couldn't make contact with Ahamkara, as her racing record is as bad as ever.

Cade eventually grew bored at the Tower and traveled to the Solar System to hunt the enemies of the Vanguard. He caught many criminals and sent them to the Prison of Elders. Eventually, he gathered six of his most trusted Guardians and helped Regent-Commander Petra Venj restore order to the Reef, which had fallen into chaos following the events of the Taken War and the invasion of the Red Legion. This pilgrimage culminated in a battle against the scorned. During the battle, most of the Scorn Barons were killed, but Cade and his team captured seven of them and sent them to the Prison of Elders. Despite this victory, Cade's efforts against the Scorn were incomplete due to the escape of their leader Fikrul, the Zealot. Even after the mission against the Scorn was over, the restless Cade occasionally asked Petra to call him for help to create an excuse to get away from his paperwork.

Rejected

Cade, last minutes

“Tell Zavala and Ikora… Vanguard… this is the best bet I… lost…” Cayde-6’s last words

Cade, along with the Guardian, went to the Reef in the Prison of Elders to stop the riots and the escape of prisoners. The main task of the Guardians was to help Petra Venj restore the security system in the prison and calm the prisoners. It was decided to split up and fight their way through the prison in order to restore order. Once the task was completed, Petra discovered that the Scorn Barons from the lower tiers had made their escape. In an effort to catch up with the Scorned first, Cade climbed onto the structure that served as the prison's security system, shot off its fasteners with a revolver, and the structure, together with Cade, quickly headed to the lower tiers of the prison, where special prisoners are located.

Below, Cade is confronted by eight barons, during his long battle with the usual scorn, Pyrrha, Sniper waits for the moment to fire and destroys Cade's ghost, Sundance. Realizing that the end is near, Cade is encouraged that he will soon be reunited with his long-dead son Ace before turning his revolver on Rexis Van, the Executioner. A censer hit from Baron sends Cade through a wall, where he collides with Uldren Sov. Realizing that Uldren intends to kill him, Cade begins to delay time, knowing that the Guardian will soon track him down and come to the rescue. The Prince of the Awakened points his own revolver, the Ace of Spades, at Cade. When he asks him about his last words, Cade utters his last taunt at Uldren before being shot in the chest, "How's your sister?"

The Guardian arrives too late, unable to save Cayde or stop Uldren Sov. Cayde uses the last of his strength to make sure the Guardian doesn't blame himself for what happened and asks him to relay his last words to Ikora and Zavala. Taking justice into his own hands, the Guardian sets out to avenge the death of the Hunter Vanguard.

Heritage

I, Cayde-6, being of sound mind and (sufficiently) sound body, hereby declare that all property previously owned by me shall henceforth pass into the possession of the person, alien, animal or natural phenomenon that killed me.

The above property includes the following (but is not limited to):

- "Ace of spades"

- all the caches that I left in the system

- Colonel, my faithful friend

– debts listed as attached: ATTACHED FILE IS TOO LARGE TO LOAD IT ― Cayde-6’s Last Will and Testament

Calm, carefree, practical, reckless and adventurous are the best words to describe Cayde-6. While he may appear lazy and bored while performing the duties of the Hunter Vanguard, he actually takes his duties much more seriously than he would like to admit. Initially, Cade wanted to continue his free life as a Guardian, but after his friend, Andal Brask, was killed by a Fallen mercenary, he put his desires aside and took a place in the Vanguard. Despite this, every time he wants to return to his former carefree life. It may seem that Cayde sends the Guardians on rather dangerous missions, but deep down he cares about their safety and the successful completion of missions.

Personality and character traits

"Good job, Colonel." - Cayde-6

Quotes

  • “Need destruction at a distance? Night Hunters will need help against heavy armor, while Fencers will want to get close. Find Arrow. He knows exactly what to do."

Interesting Facts

  • Cayde-6 is voiced by Nathan Fillion. He previously voiced characters from Bungie (the Halo game series) and also appears in the television series Firefly.
  • Cade's role in The Taken King was originally played by Uldren Sov in an early version of Destiny. And Cade's personality as a reckless bounty hunter, in the early stages of development, was that of Uldren Sov, who went by the name Raven.
  • During some of his travels, Cade left caches of information, clues to his past, and leads to rare and exotic weapons. One of the items he hid was a surviving copy of the book "Treasure Island» 1883. The book was hidden in the Speaker's personal library and had drawings and notes from Cade.
  • Presumably, Cade didn't give up gambling after losing Vanguard's bet, as he kept his playing cards. During Breaking Dawn, Cade was greatly impressed by a gift from Eva Levante in the form of dice that showed the same numbers.
  • In Destiny 2, Cayde is shown to have a Marksman subclass and is proficient with the Golden Revolver.
  • Cade loves chickens. During the liberation of the Last City, he named his "pet" Colonel.
