Outriders Worldslayer: Apocalypse levels and how they work
Forget about challenge levels. New difficulty balancing options Outriders Worldslayer are apocalyptic, in a good way.
Original Vanilla Campaign Walkthrough Outriders unlocked higher difficulties called world levels. As you progressed to higher levels, the game became more difficult in many ways, but the trade-off meant higher level loot. While you were encouraged to work your way through the World Tiers, you could drop down at any time. Vanity was a simple mechanic that allowed players to balance and adjust difficulty on the fly, and it remains intact, albeit in a modified form, in Outriders Worldslayer.
In the endgame Outriders world levels have been replaced with Challenge Tiers. These endgame levels allowed players to have a better chance at rarer weapons and armor even after hitting the level cap.
В world layer both of these systems have been replaced with new Apocalypse levels. However, not much has changed, except that your chances of getting the best loot are now higher than ever. And that's why.
Apocalypse levels explained
Apocalypse Levels work more or less the same as Challenge Levels. Playing at the highest Apocalypse level available will help you progress towards unlocking the next level. Playing at any lower Apocalypse level will not fill this progress bar at all.
Whenever you reach a new Apocalypse level, you will be able to move on to the next one. Or you can set the game to automatically move you to the highest level available in the Apocalypse Level menu. We recommend doing this as you will almost always want to work on leveling up the Apocalypse.
Each time you reach a new level, you will also be rewarded with a box of random, expensive loot. These loot boxes usually contain something good, especially at the beginning of the DLC. As you progress to the higher levels of the Apocalypse, the system begins to show its differences. world layer adds a greater variety of buffs and attribute bonuses that favor both the player and enemy mobs.
For returning players, it's important to note that Challenge Tier progress carries over to the new system. If you reached level 15 before the release of the expansion, you will have unlocked Apocalypse Tier 15. However, while the level cap for Challenge Tiers was only 15, world layer expands it to level 40. Combined with the time it would take to get all 200 ascension points, this guarantees that it will take more than a hundred hours to bring your character to the maximum rank.
Apocalypse levels also introduce Apocalypse Items, but are otherwise essentially the same.
