League of Legends Update 12.12: Bel'Vet Nerf and Seraphina Buff

The League of Legends 12.12 update is just around the corner, and it will weaken the newly arrived Bel'Vet, as well as a series of nerfs to already established champions.

As professional play returns to League of Legends, the implications of the game's longevity update will be open to everyone starting in mid-June. However, the live game is already moving forward as Riot continues to fiddle with all the big changes in LoL 12.12 patch.

With over 30 champions affected by the last update, this two-week roster is definitely shorter - 20 champions are in the developer's eye with even a 50/50 split for buffs and nerfs.

Healing is the main topic of the patch discussion after LoL Patch 12.11 Grievous Wounds nerf. However, some build path adjustments after the durability update are also on the maps (look out for players Shaco and Katarina specifically).

Here's what you need to know about the League of Legends 12.12 patch, including the full notes and launch time.

What's changing in LoL 12.12 update?

Bel'Vet faces nerfs immediately after release

Empress of the Void, Bel'Veth, has corrupted the Summoner's Rift. While her launch was quiet, she terrorized players - especially in low elo - and this put the jungle's hypercarry under Riot's guns in LoL 12.12.

She is another champion that gets nerfed right after her release, although her power level isn't as problematic as launching Zeri for example. Currently Bel'Vet boasts a 52% win rate across all ranks, though it's negative from Platinum and up.

Riot is shifting some power away from her ultimate to share with the rest of her base kit. They also limit her infinite scaling, reducing her passive attack speed growth at level 13.

She won't be the only champion either: Dr. Mundo, Fiora, Jeanne, Lucien, Singed, Viego and Zeri (yes, again) are also toned in the update.

Healing is dwindling again after Grievous Wounds nerfs showed the strength of some champions like Soraka.

Basic healing adjustments after severe wounds from nerfs

Riot made another big durability change after the loL patch 12.10 update, adjusting Grievous Wounds again just two weeks later. However, this led to a healing meta where tanks and spellcasters dominate.

In patch 12.12, the developers are tweaking the healing to be more in line with expectations. This includes adjustments to Soraka and Yuumi and the aforementioned nerfs to Dr. Mundo and Viego.

Developer "TheTruexy" said that "healing from severe woundsis a big theme of these changes, so not all healing is reduced.

Serafin is one of the eight champions that were chosen in the LoL 12.12 patch.
