Fresh Gears of War 4 Update
It's time for another update for Gears of War 4, and The Coalition Studio is already chirping about changes coming in early October. There are two big adjustments that players should be aware of, and so far opinions have been pretty mixed on this.
First, the previously teased announcement of the 2v2 playlist for Season 5 has officially arrived for ranked matches. 2v2 Gnashers Only will be available for competitive rankings. Adding to that, new Gear Pack content is coming soon, though it hasn't been detailed what to expect from it.
The second change affected skins. Players wishing to show off their skills using Syndrome or Midnight Weapons will no longer be able to freely select them. Both skins will now be team-based, meaning they won't be selectable like before. This decision was made based on the friend or foe mechanic, an obvious attempt to keep friendly fire low and avoid confusion. This will not affect other skins in any way.
And finally, Gears of War 4 was going to collect a new round of achievements in September, but it didn't happen. After a lot of pushing the community towards an official response, the developers are finally talking: Expect to see achievements in late October or early November.
That's all there is to know about the current patch. Although the size is relatively small, these changes created a lot of noise. Be sure to share your thoughts on adjustments in the comments.
