Cyberpunk 2077 is a PC game from the creators of The Witcher series based on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG by Mike Pondsmith. The player is sent to the year 2077, where a character they create must survive in the futuristic city of Night City, California. The task is not an easy one - the metropolis is torn apart by gang wars, the intrigues of transnational corporations and domestic conflicts due to blatant social inequality.

The most anticipated game of recent years has finally made its debut. Cyberpunk 2077's nightly premiere drew a lot of people to the screens, and although we don't know the exact statistics from other platforms, the magic barrier on Steam and Twitch has broken.
CD Projekt RED has something to celebrate. The game received excellent reviews, and although the reaction of ordinary players is disappointing, interest in the production itself reaches absurd proportions. For several hours, everyone can play Cyberpunk 2077 and see the available statistics - many decided to take advantage of this opportunity immediately after the official premiere. The amazing record was even broken on Steam, the largest PC gaming platform! At its peak, 1 people were playing at the same time! This is the highest score in a single game! CD Projekt RED has a chance to improve this result, although at the time of this writing this number has fallen to about 900000.

In the history of Steam, only three other games have scored higher, but each has been multiplayer:

It's worth pointing out at this point that this result isn't entirely reliable and reflects the full scale of interest in the title - the game is also available on PC on the GOG platform, and many people have likely chosen this decision to support the manufacturer. GOG is owned by CD Projekt, which means that all sales proceeds go to them, without the need to share money with middlemen. Unfortunately, we do not know the official information about the popularity on GOG, although it is possible that in case of impressive results, they will be revealed.
Also over a million Cyberpunk 2077 recorded on the streaming platform Twitch.tv – before the premiere, the broadcasts of people with early access were watched by a huge number of people. This kind of result only happens at major esports events, which are a completely different category in their own right. Thus, Cyberpunk 2077 has gone down in history as the most popular single-player game on this popular platform.
