Resident Evil 2 gameplay at 60 FPS and 4K from Nvidia

2K 4FPS gameplay footage from nVidia's Resident Evil 60 Remake.

The original Resident Evil, which came out on the PlayStation in 1996, was the first video game to actually be scary. Two years later, Resident Evil 2 came along and finally finished me off.
Remakes of old games aren't usually very exciting, but when Capcom announced in 2015 that it was going to breathe new life into Resident Evil 2, it made me very happy.
Today, as I watch Nvidia's latest gameplay from Gamescom, I'm once again experiencing the long-forgotten feelings of awe and excitement that I felt while playing the original 1998 version.
Resident Evil 2 is being overhauled by Capcom, which has rebuilt the game from the ground up, adding new elements such as a new camera system that enhances the zombie experience.
The storytelling remains largely intact, so you still get the same compelling story you remember, but Capcom claims it has a whole new soul that delivers brand new emotions. Based on the gameplay in the trailer, I think that's a fair statement. The picture promises to run at 60FPS in 4K.
Of course, I may just be biased. I have always been a fan of zombie history and games. Whatever the case, if you have fond memories of the early Resident Evil franchise, the remaster is sure to please.
Resident Evil 2 Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on January 25, 2019. The standard edition will cost $60, while the "Deluxe Edition" with additional costumes, weapons, and soundtrack will cost $70.
